U3002-81 code after replacing donor TPMS Module
Hi all. I was getting the dreaded TPMS System Fault message. After reading through several threads on the subject and trying many suggested things to check first, I decided to replace the TPMS module on my 2013 xk. I bought a used module from a donor 2014 XKR and replaced it. I no longer get the system fault message however I get a 'check tyre pressure' message only on the front drivers side wheel. I used my autel ap200 and get the U3002-81 DTC. I'm planning on swapping tires to see if the error follows the tire to eliminate a bad sensor. If that doesn't work is there something else I can do or do you think I need to go to Jaguar to have the module programed to accept my vehicle. Note: I was getting the fault before purchasing new tires and replacing my sensors with new VDOs. Any help or advise would be appreciated. Pic of DTC attached. Thanks

I bought a used TPMS module as it was the second-to-last non-replaced item in the entire TPMS system. It didn't cure the problem as it wouldn't take a reflash and now shows as a Failed Module. I gave up and disabled TPMS until I think a brand new virgin module is worth the effort. I never got any faults other than the warning on the dash.

Thanks Cee Jay.
I'm thinking of just putting my original module back until I decide if I go ahead and invest in a new module. In Canada, the module is $520 and I was quoted by an indie $1400 CAD to replace the unit. The dealer was also close to that. Amount too. They both recommended that I don't do the install of the new module myself as they said the unit may not respond to programming after driving the vehicle to the shop. I'm not sure if that's true. Basically if I want to replace the unit, I need to shell out for the cost of the part and labour. It's unfortunate that it's not in an ideal location on the convertible.

Thanks McJag222,
It seems a bit more involved for the convertible as you can't access the TPMS module unless you remove the LH and RH rollover protection units. There's quite a few Torx bolts to remove. However I will use your cost as a guide and add some variance if I end up replacing my module to new. Very helpful.

Personally, I’d go the dealer route as: should they not properly install (including pairing!) the module, there is nothing to pay. Furthermore, the 1 year parts and labour warranty…. An Inde can’t do that.
