Default Universal garage door opener issue

OK, there are three buttons for the opener in a panel above the windshield. The one on the left is not recessed like the other two and if I push it in and let go, it drops back out. Anybody else experience this? If so, what's the fix?

Mine is like that too. It's the most used button for me. I took the panel off and partially disassembled it to get to the buttons and noticed the plastic button has broken off it's frame where the "hinge" is. I tried a quick fix with some gorilla tape but that lasted about a month. Need to take it off again and try to glue it with some sort of flexible plastic adhesive or something. They don't sell that button piece alone, it's part of the whole assembly which is costly even used, but I haven't looked for it on ebay in a while....

Same thing happened to me and I had it fixed by my dealer while under warranty.

If you're not using all 3 Homelink buttons, you can reprogram one of the unused buttons to operate your garage door and simply glue the broken button in place so it looks like the others.

Lesson learned: push the Homelink buttons gently.

I’ve got the complete unit (lights.. homelink) from my 2012 XKR. Its the entire overhead console (Tan). It’s near new condition.

I’d let it go for cheap if anyone is interested.

Thanks,
Joe

chaz and I can start a bidding war

I think vert and coupe are different panels but I would guess the buttons are the same. Vert or coupe?

Default Retor fit?

Hi,
My 2010 XKR did not come with this option. Has anyone retro-fitted this (or know if it's possible)?
Thanks,
Rob

There are literally dozens of options for installing HomeLink. You can get the OEM replacement one for the top-center, one that goes under the rearview mirror, ones that can get installed into the driver side sun visor, ones that go into the dash, stuck ON the dash, pretty much wherever you can think one would go. Check EBay for "HomeLink", or Amazon, or Alixpress or wherever.

All the wiring required is a constant 12v and they don't drain unless activated momentarily.
