Upgrading HID Bulbs on 2012 XKR
Hi everyone,
Has anyone upgraded their HID headlight bulbs to 6000k? I have the Front Active Lighting, but find the brightness a little weak. I also have 6000k HID bulbs on my Porsche and I find a big difference in visibility.
If so do are they also use the same model- D1S 6000K xenon HID bulbs?
Thanks much

I've no clue on your year, but I asked a similar question when I came over from Lexus... The Jag simply has inferior projectors when compaired to many other makes.
I think you may also have a misconception of "color" vs "visibility distance". A 6000k bulb typically generates less lumins than a pure white at 4300k.
2cents,
Vince

I'm with Clever on this. 4300 actually does gen more lumens than a 6k. And I'm actually quite pleased with the active headlights on my 10. They generate more light, and it's better distributed than anything else I've owned heretofore. They actually do better by themselves than the 3 pair of lights on my truck. (HID converted heads, and 2 pair of PIAA fog/offroad combo). Mind you, my experience may be limited by which other vehicles I've owned... but the light looks even and bright to me.
