I am a new owner of a 2008 Jaguar XK. In the center console there is a USB plug, an OFF/ON rocker switch and a female plug for insertion of smart phone linkage. I attempted to use USB by plugging in my USB with music and nothing happened. Checked radio, and there is no selection for USB or AUX. Does anyone know what the purpose of: 1. The ON/OFF rocker switch, 2. USB input; and 3. What purpose female plug has.
Could this car have been upgraded and access to these functions are hidden? TY

That's an add-on - either third party or competent home-brew. No way to know what it does without dismantling it but one guess would be that the USB socket is a charging point for a phone which can be switched on and off, and the 1/8" jack is some kind of audio feed to the head unit.
Maybe the aux phono input was fitted but the owner never went ahead with the configuration of the aux input in the Jaguar software? It would be worth getting it configured if you want an aux input for phono or Bluetooth use.
Thank you all for your comments. It is indeed an after market FM transmitter set up. At a set FM frequency (87.9) the radio will broadcast music from your cell phone. The system is sold by a company called I Simple. The USB portion is to charge a smart phone. The on/off switch allows the FM transmitter to interface directly with the radio at the 87.9 or 88.3 FM setting.
System works very well and I encourage anyone looking for this system to look up I Simple.
