Used a Time Machine to buy an brand new 2007 XK (well, almost)
A few months ago I began searching for a used XK. I trolled the Internet and visited Jaguar dealers in four states. At one dealership the salesman asked me to describe the ideal car I was looking for. I told him I wanted a 2007 Frost Blue convertible with the Slate and Ivory interior. It had to have the Luxury Package (upgraded leather, heated steering wheel, 19" wheels) and the Premium Sound Package, and I wanted a car with less than 40,000 miles, and preferably less than 30,000 miles.
He said the low mileage might be a sticking point, but otherwise he could find the car for me if I would just give him a non-refundable $1500 search fee.
I decided to search on my own, and two weeks ago I bought, sight unseen, the exact car described above, except it only had 2700 miles on it. And that is not a typo. It’s about as close to showroom condition as is possible for an 07. I almost felt guilty driving it home, I put another 1000 miles on it in just a few days between West Palm Beach, Florida and Roanoke Virginia (Florida is a great place to pick up a convertible in winter.)
Thrilled to now be an XK-owning member of this Forum.

Darn it! I thought I had the lowest mileage 07XK when I picked mine up last November with only 7k on it. It now has a hefty 9k on it. There's something satisfying about owning a 5 year old brand new car. Maybe time to look for a lower mileage model. It's hard to believe that anyone could own a car like the XK and cover only 2700 miles over 5 years. Definately a garage queen.
Well done, great find and enjoy.

For the interior, I usually prefer black, but I think the Slate/Ivory combination is sweet, it reminds me of some of the cars my Grandfather had back in the 50's and 60's.
As far as the exterior goes, the XK looks good in any color. I especially liked the Liquid Silver and the Lunar Gray as well as the Frost Blue. My previous cars were white, copper, white, black, black, silver, gold, burgundy, red, gray, silver. This time I wanted something different, and the Frost Blue fit the bill. It's a great color and it looks different under varying lighting conditions, deeper blue in bright sunlight, a cooler green tinged blue when it's overcast. I also think it goes best with the slate/ivory as compared with the other exterior color choices.
