Default vacuum pump install question

5.0 xkr. Hoping to reach out to someone that has reinstalled the vacuum pump. I'm going to attempt to remove and replace the vacuum pump gaskets and reinstall it because of a leaky pump. How do I know when I go to reinstall it if the "ears" are correctly orientated? Can it only be installed one way?

Never done it - this is from the manwell - looks pretty straight forward - just pay attention when taking it apart - not always possible.

Have a look at this video, it's reinstalled at the end.

Guys, I finally got around to replacing the seals on the vacuum pump. It looks like I fixed my leak. I changed the oil and filter as well. It's not difficult to do at all. I probably saved $400 doing this myself. One thing I noticed is it looks like there's a gasket between the upper and lower sump... and I cannot find this gasket for sale anywhere?

I probably should have explained this better. I fixed the oil leak that was coming from the vacuum pump. While i was cleaning the sump off with brake cleaner, I could see a gasket sandwiched between the upper and lower sump and I wish i could have found a new gasket it for it and replaced it while I was doing all this.

I looked in the Jag J-part parts catalogue - no gasket shown. Maybe they used some type of gasket goo. Best to contact a Jag dealer.
