Default vert. top mechanism- any preventive maintenance?

Sometimes I can hear some screeching noise when the top hooks unlatch from the windshield frame, and again when top is closing in just before and during latching shut. Not sure if this is normal, and if there are anything to keep an eye for in the mechanism.
I also looked around with the deck-lid parked in fully upright position. Can not see anything unusual anywhere, everything is clean like new in the compartment or the top sides.

Interestingly, in that position, it appears I could access/inspect the battery much easier from the top after removing the back trunk/battery cover of course.

I'm pretty sure that the noises you hear while the top is latching and unlatching are normal, as my top makes the same noises. I am unaware of any required routine maintenance for the mechanism. See:
