I visited a wrap shop in Scottsdale. The 3m brushed titanium wrap was an exact color match for my vapor grey color in case anyone is looking at that color.
This shop used to use all 3m but they now prefer the Avery brand. They want $4300 for textured vinyl and $3000 for non textured, full wrap.
They had a new BMW i8 in the shop getting wrapped.
By the way, my XK is 4 years old and has 36K miles and the paint is in darn near perfect condition. Never seen anything like it. Wrap shop agreed.
I'm passing on a wrap.

Very interesting and varied comments. Obviously it comes down to choice. Having a friend who wrapped his car aprx 2yrs ago I can attest that it still looks perfect. This Thursday I have an appointment to have the lower front bumper lip, the roof and the rear spoiler done in matte black. I may even decide to do the raised centre part of the front hood in matte black. If I don't like it, I will spend some time and remove it. Its about experimenting, assessing and deciding.

When I was a boy, my mother bought a brand new beautiful wood dining room table. Upon it's delivery, she immediatly put on a thick pad and a pretty (expensive) table cloth to "protect" the new table and keep it in new condition. She then put a thick clear vinyl sheet over the table cloth to "protect" the table cloth and to keep it from getting stained.
For many many years, everyone who was in the presence of the dining room table experienced a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction knowing that under those 3 layers of protection was indeed a beautiful wood table. We rarely got to actually see it, but we knew it was there!
I'm not sure what ultimately happened to that table, but rest assured, the new owner got a table in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, the original owner and everyone else were never able to truely enjoy it, as they were only able to see the vinyl that was put on to protect it.
