Looking:

Just because a Jaguar XK or XKR doesn't sell on eBay doesn't mean it's bad. The eBay ads always have the vin number.

Run the vin number on Google. Just copy and paste the numbers only (17 digits) and paste into Google search. You may be amazed at what you find.

Then use this helpful site:

Home : Free VIN Decoder - Vehicle Identification Number Check

You will see the box to insert the 17 digits/number for your vin, hit search and you have all the information on the car. Back it up with a carfax or autocheck, and everything about the car is listed. You must complete due diligence in your search for these cars.

I found my 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition with 13,501 miles this May 2013 by doing lots of research all emanating from an eBay ad.

Most dealers have these cars way overpriced, always make an offer. If they are not selling cars, many times your offer will be accepted. Then there are also some Private Sellers or original owners selling these XK's and XKR's.

Happy hunting...and be sure to get the VIN, run it on Google search and decodethis.com

I could be wrong but I think all of the 2010 XKs sent to the U.S. were "portfolio" editions. I know when I called Jaguar USA and gave them my serial number on my 2010 XK coupe they identified it as a "portfolio". This means as I understand it, it has the upgraded leather (soft grain) with contrasting stitching, leather covered dashboard, 16-way heated/cooled power seats, B&W 525W sound system and Bi-Xenont headlights. That was the joy of buying my XK - not having to pay extra for anything except the 20" kalimnos wheels (the only option on my car). This was really refreshing after visiting the Porsche and BMW showrooms. Something to also consider is that the 2010 XKs with the normally aspirated 5.0L has close to the performance of the 2006-2009 supercharged 4.2L XKRs.

I believe you are right that all 2010 XKs came with the same top trim level, previously reserved for portfolio editions in earlier model years.
