Well , she's on her way
We just loaded up the 2012 XKR and it's on it's way to CA to the new owner. This has been the shortest ownership of any car that I owned (5 Years) but as I mentioned before I felt it necessary to move on. I'll remember the good times we've had but in my new world I have to make new memories. So now I will refocus on my next adventure which gives me something to look forward to. So enjoy what you have and have what you enjoy. To all I wish you am Merry Christmas and great holiday season with friends and family.
Oh I finally took a picture of the car I have on reserve and hope to get maybe in April or May.

I just reviewed your album of pictures. Red must be your color. I like how you installed the exterior battery maintainer connection. Did you feed the the cable through an existing hole in the trunk and was the rubber weather protection insert on the car or did you drill the hole and install the rubber part. Where did you get the rubber part? Is there a thread on the install? You sold your car extremely quick for a Jaguar. There will always be a good market for a well maintained low mileage XKR. You were hit with a good portion of the depreciation and the new owner will enjoy a great car at a very reasonable cost. Jaguars continue to depreciate more than most brands. Please come back after you spend some time with the C8. I'm very interested in your review of the C8. Torch red is definitely a good color for the C8. You're going to feel like your in an american made Ferrari.

There is a rubber drain plug in the spare tire area where I threaded the wire through for the charger. I used the Ctek extension and fastened it to the acc. screw on the positive terminal and the ground on the CD chassis . I made the angle bracket and used a marine cigarette socket with a rubber cap. I attached the angle bracket with 2 sided foam tape and a zip tie. I did not want to drill any holes.
As for the depreciation I knew I would take a hit but at the time I figured it would be my last fun car. But due to my life altering experience never say never turned out to not be true. So I will always look back and enjoy the memories but I think I still have time to make new ones. Now being the C8's won't be available until 2nd qtr. 2020 I figured it would take maybe 6 months to sell the Jag. So I put it on Cargurus for the price I wanted and hoped to sell it for that by around march. Put it in for $35K and sold it for $34K and it being a convertible in the winter I was impressed on how quick it went.
So I'll continue to post here based on my experience with the XKR and when the C8 comes I'll let you folks know what I think of it. I do assume it will be a different beast so we'll see how it goes. Merry Christmas.

Got me on the red as having an old Ferrari there really wasn't a choice. When I looked for the Jag there were 3 colors that I would buy. Green , red or blue. and they were difficult to find. That's why it took me 6 months to find a car. I bought the $111K 2012 in 2014 for $75K , sight unseen and as soon as it was posted for sale.

Just got back from CA so am catching up on my emails. As for the ID I was going to go to "jagtovet " but stuck with jagtoes. I didn't hear from the new owner yet as I don't know if the car made it to CA yet. May have hit a weather snag . Love the 405

Yep and gave him my Ctek unit as part of the deal. By the way my battery was replaced last April. He got the whole shootin match with 2 key fobs and all the manuals and the CD for the Nav. Plus the window sticker which I had laminated and a dealer brochure from 2012.

I'll stick around to add my 2 cents worth. Don't expect the new ride until maybe May. I also still play in the old Ferrari 08 chat box where I had that car for 14 years. So I'll add where I can but will read and enjoy/learn from you guys. Then I'll also be learning the C8 stuff too. But then again I'm retired and golf season is on hold here but I may travel south a few times. Enjoy the ride.

Well I just got a call from the new owner and the car arrived last night. He is overjoyed over the car and his concern of buying a sight unseen car fears went away. He called to thank me for keeping it in great shape and asked if he could call on me for any questions in the future. I have no problem helping and would be glad to give him info . So safe and sound delivery and a happy new Jaguar owner.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all . Enjoy the drive in 2020
