What color is it?
Hey Guys,
Been researching new tops for my '08 XK-R Portfolio. I see references to Black/black, Black, Indigo Black, Marine Blue Black....
What the heck color is our top? When I look at mine it looks black, but, then the body does too. Sometimes the body looks dark blue?
Anyone know what the formal color of our convertible tops?
Thanks

Ken,
Your top is now over 17 years old, and the color it is now is no longer the same color it was when it was new. IMO, your Celestial Black 2008 XKR Portfolio Convertible looks best with a black top.
If you insist on originality, then the only way you can get a replacement top with this rear glass logo
is to buy a replacement top from a Jaguar dealer.
Replacement tops vary in price and you get what you pay for, as quality of manufacturing, fabrics, and rear glass windows vary. I won't put a replacement top on my 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible with a Fuyao Glass America logo like this one.
I ordered a new top from https://oemplusautotops.com/ . They're the manufacturer, in California, and use Haartz Twillfast RPC fabric that is is Made in America.
Here's a summary from their website:
I expect to receive it soon.
I learned all of the above the hard way, after buying two replacement tops on eBay. Fortunately, the seller had free returns, so I didn't lose any money. Those tops weren't bad, but I just couldn't live with the Fuyao logo. Fuyao, but not for me.
