I read the stock tune off my ECU and sent it off to VelocityAP for "Stage 1" spicy sauce No pulleys or other hardware needed for this, should result in 565hp/517tq at the flywheel.
Those look great in black!👍 But, kinda trying to convince myself into a Mina back box!😂🤣
By the way, do you still have your original back box in place? Also, did you notice much difference (in anything) after installing your X-pipe?
Cheers
Thanks !
Yep that's the stock rear box I ended up dropping it and sprayed the entire unit , with the x-pipe the tone changes to a higher pitched note as opposed to that beefy V8 sound...think of it sounding more like a flat planned crank sound now.

Mina boxs are pricey!
Thanks for the info. I actually had a resonator removed/X-pipe installed yesterday. Even with the stock muffler sounds great....for now!😂🤣
Mina is a bit pricey but, their HQ is only about 60 miles from home so, going to pick it up would be a savings of shipping a European model. Would likely still have it shipped ($45. US) as a 60 mile drive across Los Angeles could take all day....maybe 2 days round trip!😁
Can I ask what it cost to have your mid pipe modified? Is the x-pipe section welded in or slip-on? I've been pondering doing the same thing, I already have an XKR rear box on my XK

I ordered the X-pipe from Jeg's mail order for about $100. The muffler shop I went to charged $200 to install. Even with the stock XK back box, I like the new sound much better. A little more rumble at idle and raises pitch as rpm increases.
Edit: My X-pipe was welded in. Also, absolutely no drone!🙂
Replaced the window surround trim on the R today with the polished variety. Now everything matches the chrome Sentas. That also means i have a complete set of anodized R trim to offer. Pm me if interested.

Nothing “sexy” to report. (like that beautiful car @Brachacz ) Gave her a brake service. Cleaned up the calipers (including all pins, etc), used brake klean and a brush, then brembo brake grease liberally and deglazed the rear pads.
While in there, started contemplating the need to drop the subframes and paint them, pretty. The feeling quickly subsided when a buddy called to suggest we meet for a quick pint at the pub.
Also contemplated painting the outer caliper bracket… But I don’t want them looking like everyone else. So I left them alone.
Pads are half worn…. I left them alone for now. (Why do the inner pads wear faster than the outers?)
And the braking feels “new” again.
Car seems solid enough but there is a slight spongy feel as when hitting irregularities in the road. I think new dampers are on the horizon. I did try lowering springs once and did like the look. But the feel was wrong when driving the winding road in a spirited manner… yes, probably just the dampeners…

Pretty, @mhminnich !
Surprised to not see these though…
I'm finally coming around to doing small cosmetic items while I prepare to hit some essentials (upper, lower control arms, tie rods, etc.) and decided to add DRL led strips to the headlights. I found the headlight wiring diagram and spliced a few wires in order to give them an OEM function, and it came out exactly as I wanted. I also saw a suggestion on one of the forums to replace the amber side markers with white leds and I couldn't be more pleased! I'm curious on y'all's opinion! I also have some DRL angel-eye fog lights coming in soon before: I'm sure you all know the classic "egg yolk" look
I made some videos on how I installed it and am considering making it a YouTube video, but I'm still debating...

Cool and all, but for a hint, next time LINK to a video instead of attaching it. Now everyone will have to download it before watching. Even YouTube works for linking, or TT, or myriad other online places.
