Today, I changed the oil in my Jag. And t's the first time I've ever changed the oil for any car.
My big bro was in town, and he's always been a car nerd though he loves trucks, so he consulted but didn't do anything but hand me things and approve my plans. Was really cool moment to get a pic of us together working on the Jag so I could send to the folks.

Thank you to all of you who post how-to's, details and advice on all the threads here. I read a ton of them.
I'm super happy right now. Planned. Executed. Done. Thanksgiving weekend next year, I'll do it again.

WOOT. Looking good Billy Ray. Feeling good Louis.

I had an extra center dash vent so I decided to airbrush it in gloss black to match the trim on my Tesla style screen and the piano black console trim…I’ll try it for awhile…

Default What ive done.

I had my rear quarter windows and rear window tinted. I was then unhappy with the 70s looking chrome window surrounds so I had the chrome wrapped in gloss black, it takes years off the car. I also purchased new wheel cap centers from Ali express, great quality I just used a little ptfe tape to get a tight fit. Car has been waxed with Auto glym UHD wax, expensive but amazing results.

Well, not today, but last week. Finally got time to replace L/Rear height sensor. Jesus Christ Himself (and doses of W/D and PB Blaster) couldn't undo the two Torx fasteners holding it down. Had to file away heads of the fasteners in that miserably tight space.
Here's a photo of what's inside the old sensor, for anyone interested. Potting material easily removed. Chip is a magnetic position sensor, 3168CG. A small magnet in the sensor arm rides across the surface of the chip. Could've ordered a replacement chip, but didn't want to wait two weeks for delivery. $40 used sensor from eBay did the trick. And used brass screws to re-attach, to save the next poor soul the agony of replacement.

Yeah, I was kind of puzzled by your pictures...phase 1 XK but for instance a facelift steering wheel...
And where is that 4.4L coming from, by the way?

Oh and here's my suggestion for another mod: inner door panels. They need to match with the seats.
Oh and mebbe some spun alu trim while we're at it...

Default Transmission. Oil drain & refill.

Wow, doing this on the floor is not recommended.
I knew how to do the change as I've done my xk8 previously but!!!
I had a tiny but critical 1/4 inch here and there for my poor fingers to fit in and around with the xk8

At any rate, 4 hours and 5 liters of oem fluid later I hope to not need to do this again.
While jacked up it was a good time to polish the lower sections of the car.
Done for now but planning on replacing the front seat leather in a month or so.

Two new front tires! Yay. One was a Road Hazard Free Replacement as the sidewall had a small cut in it for some reason. I got many miles out of it as I got the fronts about five years ago. So one free tire and one for $250 or so out the door. New rears sometime next summer probably.

Oh, you ***. Those are the ones I'm contemplating.
Now I have no choice.... I have to go with the bent-***-weirdo ones.
Those look good though on yours, so I won't worry about weirdo ones being TOO weird on mine.

Checked the torque on my tranny pan bolts, as I had some unknown leak over last winter leaving the bottom of the pan wet with either oil or tranny fluid, with no obvious source of the leak. A couple turned slightly, so we’ll see next spring.
Inflated the tires to 42-44 lbs, parked her on some plywood squares, and said good night for the season.
