Had an H-pipe fabricated and installed in lieu of the only resonator on the XK.
I already have the XKR backbox with flaps constantly open.
First impressions are very positive. Loudness increase is minimal (which is good, I'm no hooligan ), but the new tone is richer.
R&Ring the battery in a convertible seems almost designed to be difficult. The service manual makes no mention of the huge steel "joist" running across the car in front of the battery and at first I assumed I would work round it. But in the end I removed it. And don't get me started on the luggage separator.
All told, the process took about an hour including resetting the BMS using an AP200, replacing the trim and luggage separator and putting my tools away.
The new battery spent a few days on a CTEK, and was disconnected from it yesterday. 24 hours after disconnecting it from the charger, it was still reading a satisfying 13.1V before I put it in the car.
The new battery is an Exide "Premium Carbon Boost EA1000" 100Ah, 900A CCA, costing £91 delivered. It replaces a Hella 85Ah/800A. The replacement was pre-emptive - there was no known fault but I didn't know the age or state of the original battery when I bought the car. I still don't - the only code I can find on the Hella battery is 7BJK030213 and I can't figure out how to decode that.
As a loyal reader of this forum, I'm obviously paranoid - so I was convinced that after installing the new battery the car wouldn't start, or the windows wouldn't open, or they'd open but wouldn't shut, or the hood would stick half way open, or the TPMS would go haywire, or the sun visors would go floppy, or the car would only be able to turn left....
Everything's fine.
After the AP200 had confirmed the BMS reset, it asked me I'd like it to reset all codes. I pressed OK and then sat for several minutes watching in complete horror as the infotainment display went on and off, re-booting, half re-booting, flickering... and finally came back.
A quick 10 mile spin through the villages in S returned 21MPG and all's well - although it does feel a bit like driving someone else's car, presumably because all the adaptations are gone.

For next time, have a short 2x4 ready on the boot floor to raise the height of the batter when you pull it out. Seems strange, but it helps more than you think it would.
Never have I ever reset a BMS. Never ever have I had a problem. I assume it's one of those 'recommendations' such as "always use Jaguar brand air in your tires".
Replaced the missing little handle on the left center ac vent. Only replacement I could find was through buying a used complete side vent on EBay for $33. It took a bit of contortions to replace it. Buy, I’m ocd and it bothered me to have it missing.
Having some basic service done 2 my new to me ‘15 XKR, at local independent:
- power steering fluid
- brake fluid
- radiator flush
- pollen filter
- engine air filter.
Getting the service up to date. Then after that I’ll do it all myself. As much as I can.

Detected and fixed a nasty fuel leak coming from the fuel pressure sensor.
Fuel leak was even worse. On this picture you can see fuel dripping but that was after I tried tightening both screws down. Before that fuel was pissing from the rail.
Couldn't find an original replacement part so the Chinese one from Amazon did the trick.
Why I even bother searching for the fuel leak you ask? Once in 2 weeks I would get a really strong fuel smell in the cabin at the engine startup.
P.S. I was actually checking the purge valve under the bonnet when I noticed a fuel geyser from across the engine bay. I was lucky

I assume that the one in the pic, is your original. Looks like a Ford part, so wouldn’t a Ford/Lincoln dealer have an OEM, or at least be able to order it?
BTW, looks like it may have been an easy job to replace it?
Motorcraft OEM, CAD$70 at my preferred local dealer.... cheaper than chinesium, rockauto and ebay. fyi.
(I called as I only get the discounted price when I speak with them)
Cheers.
Finally fixed the issue with “TPMS System Failure”. Previous ‘generic” ones installed by Discount Tire could not get them to work. Bought OEM Jag Sensors”, had Discount Tire install them. Drove about 3 miles, and the message went away!!!
Haven't installed it yet, but I picked up this 4.2 XKR muffler last week. A little time and elbow grease with a Brillo pad and it looks quite good.
I've ordered the lower center diffuser for the quad tips, hopefully to arrive in a week or so. Looking forward to a little more exhaust note.

Looks good. Never thought about shining mine up when I installed it, but the sound is beautiful!
I'm not sure that using a regular brillo-pad on stainless steel is a good idea. Stainless steel pads are available.
I'm interested to know why you think a gentle rubbing with a very soapy Brillo pad (except on the chrome tips, of course) would be a problem? It is stainless after all, and it's not a DeLorean body LOL. Being under a car for 15 years and exposed to the elements is much more harsh than my cleaning.
