Just wondering, what should be an OK price to pay for used XKR rear box?
Think they are generally in the $200-$400 (US) range.
When I bought mine, back in 2015, seller and I agreed on $150, but I paid him $200 when I picked it up, as he had gone way out of his way to ship it with his household stuff when he moved halfway across the country.
Question: Since I got the box with valves on it, do you guys know if they are open by default or if I need to do some modification to make them permanently open?

Open by default. I also covered the vacuum tube holes, just to keep the dirt out, in case I wanted to use them to activate the valves in the future.
Shut up and take my money indeed!
I managed to source an XKR rear box last night.
Had to pay a bit of a premium (~500$) for it since these cars are extremely rare here. Looks to be in a good shape tho.
P.S. It can't fit in the boot of an XK
Congrats on finding one. I don't think $500 is a bad price considering how infrequently they come up for sale and knowing what I paid for the one I just bought.
However, are you sure it's the right one for your car? I think you show you have an '07 (4.2). From the photo, this back box looks like it's for the 5.0 XK. I may be wrong.

Any muffler shop can change the inlet pipes to fit a 5.0 onto a 4.2, or 4.2 onto a 5.0.

I think the exhaust was removed from a 4.2 XKR from 2009. I hope it will fit without any modification to the box itself. Looking at the pictures Stuart S posted I think it should be the correct one. Will find out in couple of hours tho. Going to a friends garage shop to swap them.
I am planning to install the new box without the XKR specific lower bumper trim piece since I can't wait for it to arrive. Will install it later on. Hopefully I wont need to remove the box again in order to install it.
Or you can replace the back box on any X150 with the Mina Galleries back box only having to replace the diffuser with no modifications other than painting the diffuser to match your X150. Ask me how I know,

The Mina Gallery 4.2 back box is currently not available and was almost $1400 when in stock. Not sure what the new pricing will be once back in stock. They do have 5.0 versions available. I was waiting for them to get re-stocked when I found my XKR back box.
No issues whatsoever during the installation process and the sound.....OMG!!! Every single XK should have come from the factory with this setup.
Quiet and civilized when you need it (no droning on constant 160km/h) but so deep and raspy when you are on it. This just proves that OEM+ upgrades are the best!
Just gotta wait on that plastic trim piece to show up in order to complete the new look. Speaking of looks, I kinda preferred the look of two bigger tailpipes over these four little ones, but hey...still looks awesome!
