I went to do that first, but I forgot the top had to be up. Since I was in a hurry this morning, I didn't do that yet.
First thing on my list!

If it was mine and the hard reset doesnay work I'd strip the display and inspect the components on the board. Electrolytic capacitors fail with age and could cause the display to not boot. My old PC had issues with bulging capacitors - replacing them got the puter running again.

The Hard Reset did the trick!
But now I'll be paranoid every time it takes an extra second to start up.

Good news - hopefully 1 in a zillion event.

I was driving last week with the ac on in manual mode (air selection to all vents) when I adjusted the CD track setting to the next track with the knob on the steering the AC cut out - no fan. Display was greyed out and the track display was on top of the AC display. Shut the car down, re-started - no AC - display in same state - I then pressed the auto setting (in blue) on the display and every thing went back to normal. Hasn't occurred since.

Just hope it was a one off.

For details there's a whole thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ontrols-281819

I've spent the past couple months picking away at some rework on a job I paid a shop to do. Long story short, the accessory belt tensioner bolt broke. I couldn't get a straight enough shot at it from above (to either drill/tap, or to weld a nut to the bolt), so I had to remove all the heat exchangers to get a straight shot at it.

Once in there, I tried welding a nut on there again and couldn't keep enough heat in the bolt to make a proper weld. I could have preheated the area of the block with a torch, but decided to just drill baby, drill. The threads in the hole were stripped out so I had to install a timesert. Once that was done, installation is opposite of removal. Here's a few shots I took along the way. Words cannot possibly convey the unbridled, seething rage I hold towards Egan Automotive in Kaysville, UT.

As it currently sits, the heat exchangers went in and the cooling system was filled and run up to 210 degrees for a half hour. No leaks, fan and IC pump come on, so tomorrow the rest of the front end will go back on and she'll be back on the road. Lesson: Don't let people touch your ****; do it yourself so you know it's done right.

Also, my wife and I brought her new (to her) car back from California. It's a 2019 XJ Collection that was almost literally the quintessential barn find. A retired thoroughbred horse farmer/vineyard owner bought the car new because it had been his lifelong dream to have a green XJ. He loved it like a family member and only put 15K on it between purchase and his death in January of this year. We were told we were third in line so we wrote it off and kept window shopping. About two weeks later we got a call from the gentleman's son saying that we're up to bat if we want the car. We flew out to Sacramento two days later and drove the car back with a nice lunch in South Lake Tahoe. The green with London tan is arguably the most Jaguar of all Jaguar color combos, plus green's her favorite color. She's already casually asked me what I thought about throwing a couple pulleys and a tune at it. VAP's website says that'll get us 660 HP... what do you guys say? 🤔

Those are bugs, not chips, and this color is incredibly difficult to properly capture.

I say, beautiful color...do the VAP and depending on where you plan on driving consider their E85 tune.

Wish my wife had more imagination for color. Every car of hers has been white…
Oh, and congrats on fixing that flub by ‘professionals’. I’d be hopping mad about it.

WHY would you have gone to Egan? Their building must cost them $10,000 per month. That's where the Kaysville Wives go to have their Honda Odysseys checked for weird noises.
Nice find for wifey, pretty car. Do you HAVE to mess with it though?

Nice find for wifey, pretty car. I personally would leave it alone, but it's your car so you should do what makes you happy.
Fixed it for you.

VAP is the only option, as far as I'm concerned. It's her car, so it's entirely up to her. I have my XKR if I want to drive something rowdy.

Installed Bluetooth module in my 07 XK!

I decided to re-wrap all the wires since the old insulation was pretty much gone.

It took me 20 minutes of messing with the SDD, but I managed to enable AUX input.

It's working great, and the sound is awesome. I'd say it sounds just as good as a CD.

Advise: Before you start installing the unit, it's important to take out all the CDs. You will move the unit around a lot during installation, and if you leave the CDs in, they might get jammed (ask me how I know). This is because the unit will start reading them as soon as you plug in the adapter. Other option would be to disconnect the battery before the installation, I guess...

Installed a Garmin Dash Cam. Took quite a bit of studying to find where to conveniently tap power that is only on with ignition & accessory. Fuse 12 in the central fuse book on LHD cars its behind the left foot panel. It sends power to the visor vanity mitt or lights. It’s a pita to see. So, taking pictures helped. I bought one of the fuse tap things, and made up a jumper harness that has a 12volt to 5 volt USB converter, with the fuse tap, and a ring terminal for ground that I mounted under the screw that holds the hood/bonnett opening handle.

That big nut with the cables attached is 12VDC constant battery power. #12 goes to the visor vanity mirror lights. It powers in when you open the door, and stays powered for a few minuets after turning everything off.

fuse #12 circled, replace it with the fuse jumper adapter thingamabob.

Hello TraxtarXKR
I've just finished going right through the 121 pages of the "What did you do to your X150 today? posts, and I was intrigued by your installation of (I think) the Android media box which enabled the use of the OEM touch screen to access (amongst many other things) to a screen with engine details. This was back in January 2020 on page 58. I was surprised that nobody asked you for more details as to how and what. Please could you tell me exactly what it was you bought and what you had to do to install it.
Many thanks
Tony

Many thanks for your speedy, kj07xk.
I'm fearing that all this is way over my head.
Please could you or TracktarXKR tell me exactly what I need to buy and how to install it.
