I did on the very first page.

Thanks Sean,
On the very first page you said "I'll start it off. Over the winter, I had my wheels powder coated. I let them sit in storage for a few months and ultimately, they weren't the color I ordered so I'm having them redone. Original shop is refunding me." so you can't mean the very first page. Please could you tell me what page you mean (or the date you posted).
Many thanks
Tony

I think he means the first post in the other thread, the one he gave a link to in his post above

No, he did mean the first post in THIS thread. Sean started this entire thread with the referenced post.

Excuse my confusion then...

@tonycharente said "Many thanks for your speedy, kj07xk. I'm fearing that all this is way over my head. Please could you or TracktarXKR tell me exactly what I need to buy and how to install it." I thought that @Sean W answered that by referring to the first post in the thread @kj07xk linked to - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-camp2-175877/ - where @Sean W describes what is needed etc. for the Android box thing.

OK so sorry @tonycharente . I listed them in the attached word doc in the first post of that thread.
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-camp2-175877/

I will say the links are likely long dead as the thread is old. Best to revive that thread tho vs using this one for questions.

Thanks everybody.

It's all way above my head - I think I'll simply just drop the idea.

Thank you all anyway,
Tony

Today I fixed the sagging headliner. The sagging wasn't as dramatic as some posts in other threads but it's probably a matter of time until it would.

At first I tried with upholstery glue and an injector but failed miserably - still sagging but with nice dark stain.

I didn't feel like ordering alcantara and disassembling the whole thing so I went with headliner repair kit.

For the ~10 eur I paid, I'd say the result is great!
I could've measured the 3rd line from the door a bit better but it was hard to get a good flat perspective while inside.

So how exactly does the kit work? What are the push-pins for?

@kj07xk push pins are for marking the places where you want to apply screws with naps. A hole after the pin is barely noticeable on cream headliner but after the screw it's going to be there.

The also hold the sagging headliner in place temporarily so you get a preview of final effect.

It would be pretty hard to measure distances and get a decent alignment without pins as naps are quite wide.

I Googled Heckermann headliner repair kit, and nothing came up. From where did you order it?
Cheers.

@David993S from Allegro (Polish "kind of ebay").

Heckermann seems only like a Polish importer company, the kit seems exactly the same thing as this: https://www.ebay.pl/itm/294359731006

I applied the Ceracote headlight lens refinishing kit today. The oxidation pads did not get very yellowed so I wondered how bad they were.

The results are good however after applying the ceramic finish pads, it's a little freaky to see the lens after the 3000 grit sanding is done.

Then I did the easiest fix so far. The driver's door panel was loose at the top offering a bit of rattle. After looking at the clips peeking out, I took a chance and gave the panel a whack with my palm at those points and BAM, panel secured.

Very dismayed to see that the sliding panel trim that's supposed to slide shut when the top is lowered don't.
Since it's both sides I'm wondering, actually hoping it's an electrical problem. Reading the disassembly threads describes an epic process.

There are a couple threads on those inop panels that pretty much give a step-by-step on the repair.

Thanks, I saw the most recent one which is why I am saddened by the amount of work pulling the seat, panels and possibly seeing damaged plastic. I also saw the "Fishing line" repair. Again so weird that both sides went inoperative.

Adapted ashtray area to constitute wireless charging dock, to go hand in hand with mr12v android auto kit.

AA battery consumption is substantial and the phone gets pretty hot in the pocket, which isn't too pleasant or healthy. I also despise having visible cabling, especially in a timeless interior like our XKs

My phone is a flip Motrola razr 50 ultra but this solution should also work for others unless it's a gigantic slab like Samsung galaxy ultra etc.

The ashtray slide cover holds the phone on top of the ashtray hole, while foam between wireless charger and the bottom of the hole pushes the charger to wireless charging sensor. Needed to be extra careful when ordering (especially the 90deg usb c adapter) so the whole setup supports fast charging.
When phone is not docked, the sliding cover has no problem closing.

Default Workaround the dreaded intermittent drive selector lock

(Great idea that wireless charger)

Today I took out the drive selector and fixed the rotation lock in open position.

Recently had a first occurence of an issue with this after standing still in D with foot on the brake..(lock solenoid overheated, perhaps precautionary it stopped releasing the knob...
after restart all good again.
But yesterday when picking up the car from a parking garage it had been in for an hour, it failed again. Me blocking all traffic and no way to move over.
Selector thingy got confused and even only raised the knob halfway after some of my too quick problem solving actions.

After 2 restart attempts the box went to Park and all fine again.
I know it might be risky to disengage the lock permanently but want to check if a problem persists before biting the bullet on a replacement unit..
so far, so good.
