What did you do to your X150 today?

Where did you order your parts ?
82K miles on my 2007 XK. I had the 19" Carelia wheels refinished a couple of weeks ago in a dark grey metallic powder coat. That resulted in a big difference in the car's appearance.
I am now working on replacing the coolant system hoses and the coolant reservoir on the right side of the car. Last year I did the hoses on the left side and top of the engine including the valley hose that required removing the intake manifold. The little hose which connects the coolant reservoir to the aluminum piping that leads to the cabin heater core was looking a bit weird - a little bead of dried coolant seemed to be coming out of the end of the rubber hose. Maybe that was the cause of the slight whiff of coolant that could be smelled from time to time.
As Ranchero50 previously reported, the new coolant reservoir has a 200 KPa cap (29 psi). Do the newer XK actually have a 200 Kpa cap on the system? If yes, no wonder the engine coolant pump is failing so rapidly. I will reinstall the original cap rated at 120 KPa (17 psi).
I had bought the engine coolant pump, serpentine belt, idler pulley and tensioner pulley; but am not sure whether to put forth the effort required to replace those right now. I might wait another year to do those... During cold winter months something is making a noise which goes away after the engine warms up, so my thought is that one of the pulleys has a slight amount of excessive clearance.

Today was a very good day. Installed my new steering wheel…ordered on eBay, came from Poland…looks and feels great! My indy, Dougherty Automotive did the annual lubrication service and PA State Inspection. He also fired up his Autologic and was able to activate my rear camera…one check in the CCF to enable and it was done…no need for SDD!

I did the same. I seem to be copying you on Style Ed. I have two of the black integrated control panels and can't for the life of me remember how I acquired the second one:-) Does anyone know if the black face plates are from a specific year?

Mine came from a 2015…Pacific Motors had a wrecked 2015 XKR and I got the wheels and tires, infotainment buttons and seat controls along with the piano black trim surround and ashtray cover…

Installed my “keep it simple” Apple Play system. After much contemplation, rather than installing any of the Apple Play interfaces, did the following:
- installed Invery Bluetooth to IPod adapter.
- bought a refurbished iPad mini from Amazon for $149. Had to make sure to buy the version with cellular in order to get gps, even though I won’t get a cellular plan for it.
- installed the iPad using a “Wiley’s CD Slot Tablet Holder”.
This solved my biggest issues:
- wanted to use inRoute navigation to be able to set up routes. But, if I use it on my phone, the audio from the phone to the Jag radio sucks, and viewing navigation on the small iPhone or Jag screen is hard with my Septuagenarian eyeballs.
- didn’t want to rip apart and screw up the OEM radio
- wanted to be able to use and see some of the Apple apps.
Downsides:
- I’ll remove and hide it when parked so some tweaker doesn’t damage my car to steal it.
- it blocks the temp up & down buttons, as well as the fan speed button. But I can still get to them.
i still have my iPhone paired to the Jag radio for phone calls. And if I ever need network connectivity to the iPad I can use my iPhone hotspot.
taking a road trip next week. I’ll report back later on how it worked out.
