How is the ride smoothness and sound level with the 4S? Thinking this will be my next tire purchase.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
I had a longer drive on them today and I am very very impressed. They have totally transformed the car and I am now able to use my right foot without fear of ending up in a hedge. I used the flappy paddles to put it in to second gear at 50km/h on a cold damp road and then pushed my foot flat to the floor and the car just picked up its skirts and took off. No traction control light just full on acceleration.
I then tried a couple of quick 0-60's and did a 4.5 one way and 4.6 back the other way. The road was damp and the ambient temperature was 13 deg C as it is winter here so I would expect to easily improve on that. The car did break traction but only for the initial launch after that it just surged forward. You can see the condition of the road from the attached pic.
The annoying whine from the rear axle has gone and I found the same when I ditched the Sport Maxx's for MPSS's on my '07.
I don't think we will ever convince Cee Jay to buy some but I am really pleased with them!

I thoroughly believe most of my MPSS problem was the deplorable compound that Michelin used during the period when I bought mine. That vegetable oil based crap that flew apart in 3000 miles was a disaster. Michelin DID do a fair job of refunding my $$$, but took some away because of THEIR horrible wear.
I'm quite sure the compound has been vastly improved and they are probably at least "OK" tires.... but I'm still not a fan of what happened to mine. Maybe in several years I may try a Michelin product again. Not yet though. WAY too many other options out there.................

Ahhh, Canterbury backcountry roads - straight, good visibility, no traffic. And the twisty ones are fun, too. There are times when I'm tempted to ship the 75 over for a few months of NZ touring...
Dave that is really smart looking! On a scale of 1-10 how difficult would you rate that job?
Thanks! I do like the depth you get with this vs vinyl wrap material, the thickness of the clear is over 1/8" thick (3.5-4mm)
Now that I have spent the last 3-4 months back and forth with the manufacturer changing/tweeking the designs to get it to where I was happy with it, well , it's pretty darn easy. :-)
I would say it is a "2". You remove the trim pieces, clean with alcohol and then spray the originals with that Plastic Dip type "removable" paint., align the C/F trim pieces, remove the backing and press in place. Reinstall Trim pieces, wipe off all the fingerprints (I forgot that part before pics, LOL).
Using the removable paint does 2 things, first it hides some of the edges of the wood that the new trim can't cover and more importantly it makes the process completely reversible without damage to the original wood trim.
Took some time last night to change the oil and filter, and to clean up the oil on the underside of the car from an oil leak I discovered over the winter.
The leak had only became obvious in the cold weather when I didn't allow the car to warm up and expand materials to seal the leak.
The small leak had apparently been present for some time, as I found wires, pipes, and brackets were pretty 'gunked up' from road debris that had clung to the sticky oil residue.
But got her pretty well cleaned up, and that let me clean up the garage this morning, disposing of the plastic and cardboard 'diapers' I had placed under the car to catch any latent dips (after fixing the leak).
Now I've got to clean up the topside (she's been collecting dust in the garage all season), as she's too embarrassed to come out to play, looking the way she does at the moment.
Installed my CF mirror covers and did a CF vinyl wrap on middle section of front splitter and rear diffuser. Just to see what it would look like. Someday I hope to get the OEM 3-piece CF rear diffuser.
It's been awhile since anyone has posted in this thread, so I thought I should bump it back up... Since last posting about my CF mirrors I have wired in my CTEK, turned on DRL's through SDD and now I am working on dyeing my somewhat dingy ivory stitching red... I know some of you guys will be ready to stone me for doing that, but it has turned out really good so far... I have one coat on most of the stitching and will go back over it one more time to get it just right... Here are a couple of pics of my progress so far...
Well for some reason the pics make the stitching look more pink looking than it is...
Process is quite easy , all that is needed is a few fabric dye pens from the fabric store(I bought 4), a damp cloth and patience... literally just color the lines with dye marker and every 6'-12' wipe off the excess that you get on leather... It's that simple really... I used the following pen https://www.joann.com/marvy-fabric-m...=marvy&start=1

I think it looks great TT. Not sure why anyone would stone you for it. Nice work. Please share your process.
I too think it looks great. This is also on my list, but more so to bring back the contrast in some areas of the ivory on the Oyster...and to create a little more...so YES, Please share your process!
TT, I have looked at creating the contrast on my seats, but have been smacking myself for even thinking it....and then I see you seats..you are causing some Bi Polar issues with me this morning.. "I hate you for what you did to the seats, I love what you did with your seats" rinse and repeat....LOL

Crap, my wife wants to go to Jo-Ann Fabrics all the time and I have been running out of creative ways to avoid going there..:-)
That hot pink might make a hitchhiker/guests/valet uncomfortable.
They may assume you are trying to vent.
Just make up some story about your appreciation for dow corning insulation.

LOL... It's not pink not sure why the pics make it look pink... Might be the settings on my phone...
Finally got White XKR's convertible top mod installed. It had been laying on the shelf for almost a year. As many have said, it wasn't terribly difficult but I do wish the work could have been done with the top open.
