Thanks, getting the rings chromed cost as much as the Louver Kit :-( I think there are probably cheaper places if you look around. Bottom line after it was done I am very, very happy, even though it cost roughly $500 total. Really makes the hood vents pop and they don't look like a cheap plastic part like the stockers do.(no offense to anyone).

At the outset though, I have to thank Bernie/Sherbercars for his inspiration and advice on making this thing up! He is a true genius in devising the idea to begin with.

You'll have to tell us how it performs on the highway, as it looks like you may get buffeting from airflow coming forward through that channel between the two humps behind the headrests. Might need to add a screen between the two humps to act like the OEM or aftermarket windscreens. But otherwise, that looks cool.
We do get air but I was very pleased at how little there was. The tonneau blocks all the air that would have come forward at seat level. With the side windows up the amount of air is even less. In that mode and at 70Mph, I never feared losing my hat.
I'll look for a method to eliminate all air using a screen or glass panel but for the time being all is good.
Would he make another? and did it require much installation for the tie down portion of the install. HOw easy is it for you to pull out when you have a passenger? Thanks D
Oh, he only matched the interior leather and covered it. I made the tonneau myself after purchasing a "Speed Hump" from Mina but didn't think it was exactly the shape I was looking for. There are some threads here that talk about speed humps but you can contact Chris at Mina to get hold of one. Be aware they are not catalogue items and have to be fabricated from his part mold. I would think it would less expensive to cover them as opposed to what I put together though.
Like Bernie Sherber's original cover mine hinges on the wind screen pivot so it can be lifted for access to the back seat. Removal only takes a couple mins by removing one of the hinges. I don't plan to take mine off since we never use the rear seats.
Gave it a wash. Ordered powder coated black stainless steel license plate holder and leather registration insurance card holder from Amazon and the oem front window sun shield from eBay. Trying to find one of Dave’s threads on led lights to order my first ones.

I had specified the contrast stitching but they dropped the ball on the order though that was not a deal breaker for me. He offered to make the cover again but my wife felt she could apply contrast thread to it later. In the past there was a thread here that demonstrated how to lace in stitches for contrast.
My biggest concern is the leather seemed a bit lumpy/puffy in a couple places. The shop manager told me to be patient that the leather needed to "shrink in" and that it would settle out ok. It is hardly noticable and maybe I'm being picky but we'll see.
Thanks. Hey, you own a Jag you are supposed to be picky! I doubt if you are too picky. I assume your top goes up and down without having to adjust your piece? Was the piece you got from mina the actual piece you gave the shop or did you need to redo any shaping. I am assuming the Mina piece was an additional charge to your $500?
I got the Mina cover at $250 but it is unpainted/covered so there is more cost to have that done. My nephew bought my 07 vert and is buying the Mina cover from me for his use. The Mina cover is really nice but I wanted something trimmer in lines. Also, the mounting brackets required strapping it to the wind screen....ok but not what I wanted either. If you are interested in one, you'll need to be patient as I think they fabricate them in small batches and it may take time if not in stock.
Yes, the cover has no effect on the top's operation and it hinges forward to give access to the back seat for packages.
