Just finished fixing the broken glove box damper issue using the cotter pin method.
Does anybody else's glove box door just barely hit the side of the center console at the bottom preventing it from dropping all the way? I took it back out twice to make sure it was aligned properly, everything seems lined up and it opens nicely but because of the damper working now it doesn't seem to be enough force to let it drop past the side of the center console like it did when the damper wasn't attached. When I push in the console piece it goes right by just fine.
No big deal just the last half inch.
Spent a stack of money with my favorite Jag Tech. Changed oil/filter; transmission oil/pan/filter/sealing sleeve; brake fluid flush; replaced lower control arm bushings/alignment.
Haven't really had to do anything to the XK in a while other than drive and enjoy it, so I treated myself to a couple of nice custom key fobs from a leather worker out of the Czech Republic. You can also pick the Jag growler or leaper logo instead along with your name or initials, but I thought the 'R' logo was nice and minimalist since I already had the leaper key chain. Just wish I could've gotten a shade darker stain on the leather to match my truffle interior better. Still, it's a definite improvement over the scratched-up plastic chrome on the bare fobs.
I just replaced the speaker grill on my 2007 XK a few weeks ago. The problem with them is that the plastic degrades badly, because of exposure to sun. My one had a crack like yours. I knew it could be brittle so left it alone until I located a replacement. It's impossible (I found) to locate a used one from a salvager/EBAY, so I searched the Jaguar dealer listings and bought a new replacement for about $50. It arrived in a week from a dealer in Reno.
When I went to remove the old one, it didn't matter how careful I was, it just broke into multiple pieces. I was right to leave well alone until I had the replacement. Since I don't have the premium sound system, this covers nothing, so a little annoying, but the replacement was not hard to get and it now looks like new.
Went to put my sunscreen up in the windshield today and noticed this... Looks like I will be searching for a new speaker grill...

I had two very small door dings in the right rear quarter panel expertly removed yesterday by suction method and am very pleased. It's impossible to tell that they were there. I suspect, but can't prove (and won't try to), that they were caused by my wife while taking stuff out of the back seat of her MDX. Since I want to keep my XKR from getting dinged again, I made a side protector using a $1 foam plastic pool noodle that I bought from the Dollar Store and a set of 4 suction cup hold downs that I bought from Amazon for $12.61. The 6" suction cups are non- marking and are easy to put on and take off and the loop is easy to adjust. Inexpensive and effective protection.
