A 10 pack from amazon. If you can get shorter ones, do so. I had a tough time putting in the front inner ones and had to secure them with tape after some of the plastic housing cracked off. Woops.

I didn't replace the turn signals. Just the daytime lights. 4 front, 4 rear. If you look at the electrical diagram, the daytime lamps don't have a 3rd wire like the other lamps do. Thus there is no error signal for these. They do however stay dimly lit for a few minutes after turning off. I'll re-post if it becomes a problem in the future.

The first 2 days I drove around with no issues. Then I got the AFS warning light flashing on and off. Didn't know what it was till I looked it up in the owners manual. It went away yesterday and I haven't seen it flash again. I attribute it to the EXTREMELY frayed and chaffed wires in the headlamp units. Had to tape some of the wires up because they were so bad. Not looking forward to that in the future. Wish I had a picture of some of the wires in there. They were literally missing up to 1/2 inch of sheathing in certain spots.

How did you finish the boot or did you leave the stock spoiler in place?

I restored the headlights on my car this evening. The top surfaces of the lights were yellowing and bubbling, so I used the Sylvania kit recommend elsewhere on the forum. If I did it again I’d use an electric sander because sanding by hand was a chore! The results are nice though:

Ha, no. My phone was out of sight on the charger so I didn’t think of it till after I had started. The top of the lights were yellowing, with the right headlight surface starting to pit and bubble.

Picked up my car today where I had my front chin splitter repaired and painted after I pulled up to a concrete parking stop a few weeks ago and the rebar that holds the stop to the pavement was sticking up a couple of inches bent forward. So when I pulled in the lip of the splitter went over them without a problem, but in pulling away it locked behind the lip and tore it up pretty badly. While the car was there, I wanted to have my rotors machined as braking on the freeway was quite jittery, and finally, even though I replaced the water pump again several weeks ago as well as some coolant hoses, and so I thought my leaks were over with, I noticed some coolant loss over the last couple of weeks. This time it turned out that the oil cooler was leaking and was apparently a pain in the rear to get to including removing the supercharger. Fortunately, we still have the engine that was replaced just before I bought the car 6 years ago, and we've been using it for parts ever since. So the oil cooler was removed from the old engine and installed on my existing one, so no big parts expense. (A few weeks ago we stripped a cam positioning sensor from the old and installed in the new). So my car is back home after a week, and I've missed her, having to drive my 2002 XKR instead, the virtual jello loaf. Tomorrow, I take the Pantera out for an early morning beach and canyon run with a group of sports cars. Hopefully no breakdowns along the way.

HAPPY JULY 4TH TO EVERYONE. Make it a safe one!

Toned down the chrome "XK" and the ugly key cylinder a bit.

Identity crisis? There's no doubt about what it is, considering the license plate, chrome plinth, and non-OEM Leaper. I like the less obvious key cylinder, but I'm not sure about the XK badge. My opinion doesn't matter. It's whatever floats your boat.

I made a phone mount out of a mudflap. The chrome knob is from a Fender guitar and is the bass knob for my amp.

Beau can you do a separate write up on this? Seems interesting. Not sure what the knob is for. A little more than just a mudflap too (phone resting on mounts), no?

Had the exterior detailed. We all know what a shiny black XK looks like so no need for pics. Builder in my neighborhood was replacing some curbs. One was in front of my driveway. On a particularly windy day, they sprayed curing compound on the curb and of course my car was downwind.
Cost $500 to get it removed, then polished. On their dime of course.

Sure, not a lot to tell. I'm using my phone as my HU, so I wanted it in an easy to access place. I started off with a piece of 3/4" wood that fits snug in the ashtray area.

There are two large holes drilled in it. One is for the phone charger to have clearance. The other is for the bass knob that runs back to the subwoofer amp.

In place. The big black piece is an old plastic mudflap. Around the edge I used plastic chrome door trim. The phone brackets came from a cheap old phone mount I got off amazon, search for IPOW anti-slip and you should find it. I was not impressed with the rest of the mount. Also, I replaced the stock bass knob with a knurled one from a Fender guitar, same ones I use in the Mustang. Nice and heavy. Unfortunately my phone doesn't support wireless charging or I would have built that into the mount, but I don't mind the cord so much.

All told this mod cost me $12 (mount from Amazon), I made it from stuff I had laying around the garage

I use my ashtray for my aftermarket backup camera display.

I calibrate it with target practice on my flowerpots.
