What did you do to your X150 today?

Well I went to take the car for a drive and the damn headliner fabric was hanging down. Garage kept too. Nothing like driving a $100k car with the fabric blowing in the breeze. So I removed the headliner, stripped all the fabric and foam off and glued a contrasting charcoal colored faux suede to it. Looks the beans! Total cost: $35.

Beautiful job! When mine fell a couple of months ago, I was too lazy to pull it all the way off. I got a paint syringe fill it with fabric glue, poked little holes about every six inches and deposited some glue. Yes it looks somewhat quilted and someday I'll pull it down and redo it, but for now, at least, it doesn't hit my head, and I don't notice it if I don't look up.

Supercharger oil change
After reading about doing this job for over a year I figured it was about to do it. I gathered all the needed items even the wife’s sacrificial glass measuring cup, long arm 3/16” allen, turkey injector, tygon tubing, and 2 bottles of GM sprchgr oil. By then it was in the 90’s and I got after it.
After I placed hood in service position lots of room there now. Stuffed a rag in the lower area below fill hole. I just couldn’t get that 3/16 in the drain / fill plug hole. I had a long arm 4.5mm that actually broke it loose. Scared me. I thought I stripped it. I used that long screw starter to remove the plug after breaking loose. Well after 8 turkey injector full later it was all I could get. Read about using a WD40 lube tube to remove last little bit but I just used smaller size tygon and got 7+ oz out. I had just under 1/2oz of new fluid left in bottle
Not a bad job at all about 1 1/2 hours and all for under $40. The oil was black with an slight odor. Since this was the last area for new fluid I had to do it. 74,640 miles on the car.

I finished a dash project I’ve been working on. I never liked the finish on the vents on my ‘09 XK and admired the silver vents on the 2012+ cars. I was able to find left and right vents for a great price from Pacific Motors. Center vents are tough to find, so I airbrushed my center vent in gloss black to coordinate with the black 2012+ control panel fascia I found. Seat controls and window switches are changed to the black ones. All this after having my dash leather repaired. I used “The Trim Shop” in Newark, Delaware. Highly recommend. Dan removed the windshield to repair the leather for under $500.00. While he had it, he opened the top halfway, remove a plate at the rear edge to reinstall a neoprene band that holds the edge of the top down at the rear along the top of the trunk. No charge...nice guy.
