Hood vent mesh and matching painted fog light mesh. Had them done a while ago but finally got some good lighting for pics.

Thanks! While I had the lens off, I covered the orange reflector with some chrome wrap.

It does look great. No hassles from cops? Reflectors are required here in the USA and up in Canada eh. Had a friend who deleted his and was ticketed to many times to count so he reinstalled. I think the rest of the world might be free from reflective tyranny.

I got one warning about not having my front license plate installed so crap, had to put it on. Small enough suburb that they know who I am. On the bright side, they don't tend to ticket me for speed violations. No joke, one time driving from home along a lakeshore, where virtually everyone speeds (40mph in a 30mph) and I was doing just that. Spot a cop ahead. He's out in the street and gesturing for the two cars ahead of me to pull over where a patrol car was handing out tickets. There were two cars already there. He looks at me and puts both hands out, gesturing for me to slow down and he let me pass.

Did you add the mesh to your hood vents? Mine are open, without mesh.

I like what you did with the fog light mesh, painted it to match the painted upper and lower front grilles. The factory painted it the same color as the bumper. It's more consistent painted like the front grilles.

Never knew they were required. No one has pulled me over for the lack of front license plate or the reflectors ... yet! Iv'e only been pulled over for red rear licence plate lights which I replaced because they were too obvious.

Thanks, there is a detailed picture of them in Post 96 of this thread. I'm actually looking into getting the grill and fog light grill painted chrome but I'm not sure about the quality of chrome paint. Might look really good with the chrome side vents and wheels.

The Seat-Reclined-Too-Far-Back issue finally got the better of me. Did not want to bring it to a dealer because, well, dealer. I've always serviced and repaired my cars myself. Got access to the seat control module, disconnected (3) plugs, and applied volts to the terminals going to the motor. Ran the motor up to a comfortable driving position and plugged everything back in. Could've hired an hour of dealers time, instead had a nice dinner for two driving there in a comfortable seat.

That's pat-on-the-back worthy, would not have thought to do that myself.
What did you use to apply volts?

My friend Harry the writer lived at the corner of Prospect and 15th. Many a good meals and memories in Sea Cliff.

Right - Harry (Pearson?). Ran "Ultimate Sound", magazine for high-end audio gear.
Sea Cliff is famous for its Victorian homes, and he had a grand one.
Lots of restaurants (and bars) along "the strip" ...such as it is.
Lots of creative people in this wacky town; must be something in the water...

I used a Hewlett-Packard power supply to provide the D/C; could've just used a battery, but that was easier. Motor draws a respectable amount of current.
The electrical diagrams (found in "stickies") was a great help...

Knock me down with a feather, what an incredibly small world.
Yes Pearson and that Victorian.

I suppose the creative and fiercely independent converge there, somewhat to their surprise, cause they all answered the same on an IQ test.
Having lived around the world and having answered differently on that test, I learnt the long way heaven is where like-minded are.

Q&C, your heaven is too boring for me. There's no fun where everyone thinks alike; in that circumstance I question if anyone is actually thinking. Taken to its logical conclusion, lack of use would result in atrophy, so the end result would be a single function - to keep your ears apart. You don't have to be the Devil to play the Devil's Advocate. 👹

Right here, the XK tribe asking; what did you do to your XK today.
The Rolls Royce crowd would not congregate over this .

If you are the kind to work on your car, then turn around and go to a restaurant in style, one congregation suits better than the other.
