1) Installed the wiring for my charger (coincidentally using exactly the same bolts that Barnsie used)
2) Installed the last two LED lights (fog lights). Now ALL lamps on the car, inside and out, other than front and rear signal lights and the brake lights are LEDs. And I mean *all* (OK - two are new Xenon).
3) Washed the car
4) Washed the garage floor (I love a garage I can walk into in my socks and come out with clean socks - and yes, this makes my sanity immediately suspect)
5) Took a picture of the clean, happy automobiles on their clean floor.
6) Felt very satisfied with myself.

Do you have any handy links to the LED lights you used? I have swapped out my number/license plate bulbs at the moment, but that is all. I really like the modern look the LEDs give and the crisp, bright white. I have researched the LED market here in the UK but ended up thoroughly confused by the variety of LED types, styles etc. The license plate LEDs I used, for example, were fractionally longer than the old bulbs they replaced but just about fitted into the light unit and I am wary of buying more LEDs only to find they won't fit properly and so on. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. If it is not approproate in this thread, I'd be happy to start a new thread (which may not be a bad idea anyway).
Did you get any error messages? I am guessing not or you would have mentioned them. I have the 2008 model year, so your solutions should work for me too. I am especially interested in how you did the fog lights too
If you could find time to list the LED replacements you used that would be great!

Can you come to my house and clean out my 9 car garage. Please...
kj07XK, Barnsie and DGL - you guys are hilarious. Every Jag deserves a good home. I particularly am happy with the floor treatment (but it's off topic, so if you are at all interested, PM me).
And Barnsie - re the LEDs, I am in the process of doing a proper write-up. I was the beneficiary of a lot of advice here - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...pgrade-195058/. I also took apart the headlamp units - again with great success based on the advice from this community. But unless you have a reason to, as I did, there is no reason to disassemble the headlamp units. My projector lenses had a milky coating and on disassembly I found (and fixed) a lot of failing wire insulation. I posted that thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ailing-224587/
But I learned a few things during the LED replacement which I hope will be useful to others, so I am going to post my experience there, including pointers to all the bulbs I used, and where.
I have to agree with you - the LEDs give a bright, crisp light (inside and out) that makes a huge difference (if you like that sort of thing - as I do). It's been two days since I've done it and two "car" friends of mine immediately decided to do the same LED conversion after seeing the result. Plus, I have a pet peeve regarding burned out bulbs - so I'll mostly not have to worry about that again.
And no - no errors. But I avoided "upgrading" the front and back turns signals as well as the brake lights for this very reason. I was not interested in playing with resistors, the heat they generate, etc.
See below for an image showing the difference between the old fog lamp (on the left) and the LED (on the right). As I say, I'll post my full experience in the LED light thread as soon as the writeup is complete.
To be fair. The old halogen has more uniform lighting, more distance and there is no glare whatsoever (in your pic).
Cant you convert the halogen fog to xenon?
I like the LED look. MurrayG, what happened to your wife's white Benz? When she comes home and see's your mistress parked in her spot she's not going to be happy.

Ouch! Busted :-)
The white CLS is mine. The black ML is my wife's. I have no idea what the mistress drives. :-)

Yes - looking at them in person, I don't detect extra glare per se, but they are brighter - which is perhaps what's being seen here in the photo. I chose the LED replacements carefully hoping to get a good all-around light pattern. Parked up against a wall, I don't see any non-uniformity in the fog light illumination distribution nor any distribution difference between the old and new bulbs (apologies - I should have taken a picture). I actually bought these after the cornering lights which are less uniform. I wish I had gotten these for the cornering lights as well (because of their very uniform light pattern).
These are the (very uniform) LEDs I chose for the fog lights. If they hold up well, I'll be very happy with the choice:

Thank you so much for the links and the write-up of your project - I will eagerly await that. Great job! The difference between the two in your pic shows exactly why I am so keen to do this upgrade. Just looks so much more up to the minute! Thanks for your help with this - I wouldn't have the ba11s to tackle this unaided as my knowledge on these matters is, shall we say, 'limited'. All the best, Keith.
