What phone are you using.

I am cheap. Use a Tracfone from Walmart, it cost about $60.00 then I buy my own minutes. Phone came with 1450 minutes when I bought it in Feb 2013, and still have 650 minutes left. The carrier for the LG brand Tracfone, is ATT. It works anywhere in the USA, a has some smart phone features and had excellent service in Hawaii just last month.
I had cell service with Verizon for many years with 750 minutes per month, paid high fees and hardly burned up minutes monthly. So I bought the LG840 Tracfone, and could not be happier.
I don't have very many friends so I receive very few calls. For me it's great deal. I actually get excited when the phone rings, but the excitement fades when the caller tells me he dailed the wrong number.

Richard Z,
Very amusing. I thought I was the only one "out of touch" with the masses and the 21st century.
I also have a Tracfone, but it's actially a $20.00 LG model. Haven't even tried to use it with my 2007 XKR or my Lexus, (both equipped with Blutooth), as I only use it for emergencies, and on rare occasions.

Limited phone compatibility is a regular complaint across all the newer model sections.
The list of 'approved' phones for use with Jaguar OE Bluetooth is way behind developments in phone technology and keeping up-to-date with your phone regularly brings either inability to pair or limited functions.
One solution is to keep an older 'approved' compatible phone paired with the Jaguar, leave it in the car and divert calls from you new phone to it when driving.

I have an 07 xkr and one of the first windows phones (Lumia 800 with WP7.5) and the car and phone don't like each other. They connect but no sound comes through the car's speakers rendering it pretty useless.
Contacted dealer expecting a car bluetooth software upgrade would be a simple affair. Not possible was the answer. Seems ridiculous to me but there you go. WP8 might work but I doubt it.
