I've got an option on this 2010 XKR in Claret. $40K ish @ 28K miles.
Thoughts? I'm feeling kind of indifferent about the exterior, I know it's a classic color, but I like a couple others better. But the interior, to me, is epic!!!
But how do ya'll think it sits on the eyes?
Also, FWIW I eliminated Porsche from my search today. Drove a 2007 Turbo, it was fun, HUGE fun really, but I'm starting to think that a good deal of the "magic" that is attributed to the 911 is mythology.
Is it Claret or IRR? If it's the latter get it outside in the sun and you'll change your mind. (although I may be a bit biased).
I totally agree about the Porsche, I don't think I've ever been so disillusioned about a car, especially with all the rave reviews they get. What bemused me even more was I was trying them on track at Silverstone which is apparently where they shine!
FWIW the Cayman had far superior handling to the 911, but both felt underpowered and were a big let down.

Well it's listed as claret, but I cannot make any sense of the Vin Decoders I've found online, so your guess is as good as mine.
I've got a friend with a Cayman S, he loves it. I've driven it, and found it pretty sweet. Thought the 911 would be more of the same, and while it was cool, and made a sweet noise. Just left me wondering...
Looks a little different from my 12 IRR but even still it is a rare color and the interior wood I believe was rare for an XKR. I would buy it if I wanted a coupe but then again I am bias.

I have a 2010 XK with this color and the camel interior. And believe me the car changes colors depending on the light. On overcast days it looks copper red but in bright sunlight its a deep wine red. always gets second looks by people on the street.
In my own humble opinion, the Coupe doesn't match up to the exterior lines of a Convertible, top up OR top down. The Coupe looks more like a, I don't know, backwards fish? Reminiscent of the early 1960s Plymouth Barracudas that I never liked, sort of a Greenhouse rear glass.

You kidding mate? the sensual roofline of a coupe is the most recognizable feature in a jaguar. And the tapered rear window. Without it, its half a Jaguar.
Its the design they cherish at museums. You make it sound like its ugly. Just telling you that you would be in the very small minority. Te roadster is also beautiful.
Coupes fetch more in the used car market than conv.

Also looks like it has the rare CC 4 button option on the steering wheel.
Nope, not rare at all. For 2010, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) was standard equipment on all XKR models, both coupes and convertibles. ACC became optional in 2011 and later years. This applies to US market cars; I'm not sure about other markets.
I've always been a convertible guy, but I think the coupe is a timeless design. However the price does go up when the top goes down. In this country the coupes bring second place money

Interesting... so it was optional 2007-2009, standard in 2010, and then optional again for 2011+ ?
I'll be a little sacrilegious here being the owner of a convert but I really enjoy the lines of the coupe. If it weren't for the fact that my bride and I wanted to enjoy open top driving as we grow from the neutral zone to the red zone of life. To me the lines of the coupe are smooth and sexy and will every have a fondness of my 66 XK-E coupe. Also the interesting/sad part is that if I would have purchased the E in a convert the value today is in the 6 figures but I can buy a coupe for half of that. Such as life but in my world they are both great styled cars.
