Default What size suitcase fits the vert trunk?

I'm flying down to pick drive the car I'm buying home. With the top open, will I be able to fit a full-size suitcase? If someone can send measurements of what you can fit that'd be fantastic.

You cannot fit a full size suitcase in the boot with the top down as it occupies the front section of the trunk. An airline carry-on will fit and a small duffel.

Thank you, Don. Exactly what i needed to knw and what i was thinking the answer would be.

I should have also asked if a large one would for in the back seat if we put it in with the top open, without having to put the seats forward.

Yep, the rear seat area makes for a very good storage spot. A "normal" suitcase will fit with zero problems, but the Oversize cases will not.
Why don't you just take two smaller cases? Or three?? Four???

A large one will kinda fit in the back seat but will be cocked because the back seat is really two small, deep depressions on either side of the transmission tunnel. You might have to set the front seats a bit more vertical.

I can say with great confidence that this one will fit in the back seat with the passenger seat fully forward. Hope your wife is short:

I’ve had my International Carryon size, hardside, roller suitcase and a larger laptop backpack. It takes up most of the boot/trunk.

I’ve put two airline carryon cases (with wheels) in the trunk/boot.
Have also put a large suitcase in the rear seat, but had to take out the windscreen so it could stand upright behind the passenger seat (moved forward a bit).

I have seen people in our cars with what looks like to carry-on sized suitcases placed vertically in the back seat with the top down. I have never done it myself.

Well, it turned out that nothing fit in the trunk. I didn't realize the car i was purchasing had a cover in the trunk so we had to keep our luggage in the back seat. Fortunately we just had a carry on and a laptop bag. I got a bonus in a cover i didn't realize i was getting.

That cover does retract. However, if you want the top down, the cover needs to be extended.

I had the same issue when I picked up my 12 vert.....luckily though we only needed to pack for a couple days drive so there was plenty of room for a small bag.
But the car cover was a pleasant and welcome surprise!

We already have a large SUV for when we need big stuff, and a convertible Nissan Murano for our regular family road trips. This car is only for fun jaunts with not much stuff required. Mainly my daily driver when I wanna get away from everyone
