I also use Baldwin Filters exclusively. The big rig truckers use them, marine diesels use them, tests have proven them high quality, and they are a filtration specialist. I use them on my marine diesel, both Jaguars and a Miata. FWIW. I have seen WIX tested as excellent as well.
Did a comparo on the Etype UK Forum of various brand filters. The filters we were looking at were for the XJ6 SIII filter head, common update on an E. Tore them apart with comparative pictures.

Turns out the Jaguar factory filter, made in Italy, was noticeable better than the others, followed closely by Hengst. Turned out the Fram available in Europe is completely different than the US Frams and is the same exact filter as the OEM filter and is made in Italy as well. I've always used Mobil1 high mileage at viscosity specified for vehicle (3 Jags, Acura MDX, Chrysler 300 between our cars and daughter and granddaughter) with Purolator One filter typically- sometimes they don't have and then get reg Purolator.

the motorcraft filter is too small compared to what, just curious what your comparing it to.
It seems to be the same size as the Jaguar brand filter.
I have bought and used both brands. Since this is my daily driver, I’m looking forward to some major oil leak repairs soon. This picture was taken after changing the filter base oring, which probably wasn’t the source of my leak. More than likely my timing cover is leaking.
Wish my daily driver was a S1.5 E -type convertible 4.2 with triple SU’s but tha XK isn’t a bad temporary fix for me.

🐍 Thought my leak was possibly from the filter base oring. Cleaned the front of the oil pan filter base oil gallery location in preparation for mounting the filter/oil cooler base back to it with new o-ring. Old and new oil filter/cooler base o-rings. Cleaned oil filter/cooler base prior to re mounting it to the engine oil gallery port. New O-ring installed
My application was my 62 Etype with a XJ6 SIII oil filter housing with cooler.
This is a excerpt from the post I did on the EtypeUIK Forum I reference above. That is what I compared it to. The Motorcraft I reference was the FL 2021 which is same application as the rest. You have a different application but I would think the 2021 is a 2021 regardless.
Differences are made obvious in the post with fairly detailed descriptions and pictures, mine and others.
"Have torn apart 4 filters(Hastings and Baldwin are the same filter with diff color paint made by the same mfg)-Jag EBC9658, WIX 51231, Hastings LF104/Baldwin(Hastings does make a larger filter(LF105) that is shown as a V12 application but is same as the 104, just longer), and Hengst H24W07.
Couldn’t include the Fram 2995A as it doesn’t appear to be available in the US.

This sort of "Beauty Pageant" is not really helpful for a new owner of a car with a 5.0L motor. What I would like to know is how many owners have cars with 5.0L V8 motors which have high miles covered and still have the original timing chain/tensioner/ guides and what kind of oil change/ oil brand /viscosity / oil filter regime / and driving style or usage .
Always dealer changes with Jaguar Castrol Professional 5W20 here in Florida and still on original tensioners on 2 motors, a 2013 with 65K miles and a 2015 with 96K miles. Standard daily driving and oil service once per year.
We always have the oil and filter changes for both of our Jaguars done at the dealer's, either in Madison, Wisconsin, or Peoria, Illinois, at around 15,000 miles
between changes with the synthetic oil. We enjoy the peace of mind with all of the extras that come with a dealer oil change: the all points inspection;
the check on brake pad wear and tire wear; topping off of all fluids; and of course the glistening free car wash. When the dealer is finished, I feel confident
that are cars are in top shape and ready to go.

Thought a examination of actual oil filter construction would be helpful in a thread about oil filters as it would apply to the manufacturers quality of construction and filtration across their filter line.
I’ll butt out.
Cut them both open and compare. Often the differences are quite obvious as in the cases I reference above in the other forum.Take a look.
I have two Mann filters W930/13 and both are "Made In Germany" on box and filter.
I plan to cut one open and compare to the others.
For my 5.0, I have tryed: Wix, Mahl, Beck Arnly, Hastings, and NAPA gold.
In a very unscientific process of considering construction quality, and pleat surface area, the NAPA Gold holds the lead by a very thin margin over Beck Arnley in second place.
Hello DGL. Next to oil that question is closest thing to a hot potato. After studying this topic for years this is my 2c worth. There is a 'Plethora' of oil filter comparison videos on the net, and Most name brand filters ( Amsoil, Purolator, Mann, Mahle , Wix ) will serve you well as they are well constructed as seen in these videos.
However what Most of these videos do Not cover is the actual ability of the filtering media on how well and to what micron % wise does it filter, so look for those videos.
Do Not go by what is written on the package, or from what the manufacturer, or seller tells you , from my experience its All marketing slight of hand . So in conclusion
stick with the brand names I previously stated and you will not go wrong. Hope this helps.

I bought some ACDelco filters. They look identical to the Jaguar /Land Rover OEM filters. I change my oil about every 1,000 miles to 1,500 miles and about 4 time to 5 times a year. My biggest concern is oil circulation restriction from inferior quality since my oil is always changed.
