Question Wheel Spacers on an XK

I wanted to widen the stance of my XK,
I like the look of the original wheels on the car so don't want to change them,
but was thinking about wheel spacers to push the wheels out towards the wheel arch.
My question is which is a good make and how big should I get?
Have any of you put wheel spacers on your XK?

Here is a picture of my wheels
showing the distance of the wheels
from the wheel arch.

I don't suggest wheel spacers for any vehicle to increase the look or stance.

However, if you feel compelled to do so and proceed forward, the best place to secure custom built wheel spacers is:

Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Rings, and much more! | Motorsport Tech

I suggest you call motorsport-tech and speak with Lenny. He is an expert and will answer any questions you might have and make the appropriate suggestions for your Jaguar.

Be sure to complete your due diligence and make 100% sure you're putting a quality made wheel spacer on the vehicle for safety reasons.

You will want a hub & wheel centric spacer.

Spacers on the rear would be OK, other than the additional stress on the lugs and bearings.
On the FRONT however, they also screw up the scrub-radius something fierce.

I have put H & R hub centric wheel spacer on my car a couple of years ago and have experienced (so far) no negative effect. As per richzack's response, hub centric spacers are a must! They are the most secure.

You can search this forum, but IIRC, the most commonly used was 15mm in the front, and 10mm in the rear.

I have stock 19" wheels and I placed 15mm on the rear and 20mm on the front and have absolutely no issue with turning radius or rubbing…. and thats with H&R lowering springs installed.

Just found these 20mm spacers from Paramount in the UK for £199 a pair.
Anyone fitted these?
Thoughts?

Just be mindful you will get steering-hop.
The geometry of the centerline of the entire wheel assembly has changed, so when you hit a bump while turning the wheel assembly will retract but it wont land back in the same spot, it will land 10mm inward.

not a big deal, adds a bit more challenge and put the suspense in suspension. Germans like the drab control of the autobahn, i prefer the videogame that is Manhattan.

Spacers look great on the rear as in the picture and won't upset the geometry, but me, I'm not going to mess with the eighty gazillion dollars worth of engineering and testing that went into finding the perfect setup for the FRONT. Why not just do the Ricer thing and put 20 degrees of camber into the fronts? Oh, and a fart-can exhaust!

And the Front is where it desperately needs it. I dont understand why the excessive recess, more than family saloons. Thats with their largest wheel and tire package.

I dont like to mess with perfection but the front is ridiculous, like I opted for the cheapest wheel package on a Grand Marquis. They charged $5k extra for it to 'look' this way.

20mm on the front and 15 mm on the rears are perfect. H&R hunbcentric . Get the car relined after fitting. There will be no wear or issues only better handling, especially the front on turn in.

In order to get my Dayton wire wheels to fit on an XK8, I needed to put 1.25" adapters on each side, which is slightly more than double 15mm.

This puts more strain on the bearings, and springs, especially in the front. I couldn't roll over a stack of dimes without bottoming out. That being said, I put rubber rings at the top of the springs in the front, and it cured the problem. I am running 225 60R 16 tires, and they are wearing normally, at a little over 10,000 miles. I don't know any other information I can give you, that will help in your decision. Best of luck........Mike

Please do yourself a favor and do not order anything from Lenny at Motorsports Tech... H&R spacers is the only thing I will ever buy now for wheels spacers https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/o...vs-h-r-163529/
