The only thing the Aston has that I REALLY want on my XKR is a manual transmission option.

Anything with a V8 from Aston has little performance difference over an XK and loses badly to an XKR. An XKR beats even a DBS in terms of performance.

I've been interested in owning an Aston since Day 1....and bet a lot of others here would have seriously considered buying one had they been about the same price as an XK. I would suggest performance considerations are a distant second to style when considering either of these cars...or brands.
