Will it become a classic car ?
#21
I think almost all current cars with be worth no more than scrap prices within 10 years.
Because all new cars will be electric, and all will drive themselves.
There will not even be a reason to own a personal car, as huge fleets of robot taxis will drive us around, at 1/10 the price that private car ownership costs us now.
Young people will have no reason to get drivers licenses.
Yes there will be many old timers like myself that still love cars, but those numbers will drop like a rock as time goes by.
Almost all classic and current cars will be junk.
It's like it's 1905, and you are asking if you should keep your best breeder horse, cause he's great at pulling wagons. A great quality horse is always in demand.

In 1905 we were 10 years away from mass adoption of cars. It was not obvious to anyone at that time. They would be turning horses into dog food and glue for the next 30 years. The value of a horse dropped. Now it’s stabilized because supply has met demand. The cost of a horse is in boarding and maintaining it. That is the same reason gas powered, personally owned cars, will become much less desirable in the future, compared to robot transpo as a service.

If you don't NEED the money, keep it.
Your wife will always find something of YOURS that YOU need to part with,
Ask her, didn't she came to live WITH YOU, in your place, because of you and your ways.
What are you doing without, that you need, because of this automobile ????????????????
Now do you live with her, in her place now, if so what happened to you ??????????
She take you to the vet and got you FIXED ????????

Do like me: Wife rules in the house, I rules in the garage. It’s vital importen taki’n care of those V8 machines for the future as they never come back. I live in Norway, THE country in the world with most e-cars compare to population. I LOVE the way people turning their heads when I pull away😎So, take good care of your X150 and enjoy every miles you drive😀

Here are the Classic Jaguars and this ain't that
https://journal.classiccars.com/2020...ectible-stars/
Seriously though, you can probably get a premium during the pandemic as some XK's have had bidding wars and you might get a bump for the mileage but she's not a classic and you really can't answer that for another 10 years or so.
I've heard/read the same classic car talk about the XJ in the 70's, mid 80's. I also heard it about the X100. You can't give those away up here anymore.
The X150 is a classic to me and it's the last car I'll own.

I can park a car when it breaks, but I know I can buy a new economy car for what a serious visit to Michigan State University costs for a horse problem. Horses are way expensive!

Have NEVER bought ANYTHING in my life, as an investment.
Never had any money for investing, seems like living well.
And fixing the things i buy, just makes it vanish.
The two Jaguars in the garage, cost less than any single new Korean import.
With one to drive, while i'm fixing the other one, how can i complain ????????

XKR
I recently bought my 2010 XK for 17,000. Been missing my 2007 XK. While looking earlier XK8 were going for the same or higher cost. I paid 23,000 for my used XK8 in 2007 with 23,000 miles. From what prices on low mileage XK8’s I could have sold mine for what I paid for it. So I think a low mileage XKR might take a while but you could probably break even in a few years and enjoy the car in the meantime. Like someone else said XJS cars are now collectible and they were not good cars.
