Good luck with trying to get your Samsung connected.

I also have a 2007 XK (without the USB plug in console) and two Samsung's, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S10e. Neither will connect but I have found a USB module from another Jag and plan to have it installed. Might turn out to be nothing more than just another charging plug but I rather use it vs the cigar lighter.

Because the 2007 models were the last year of ownership by Ford Motor Company and I have various parts stamped FoMoCo throughout the car, I reached out to Ford to inquire if any Bluetooth updates were available for 2007 Lincoln's. The short answer was NO.....the long answer was most owners of those models change out the radio and Bluetooth from later model Ford/Lincolns.

Your module's from an 09 and there's absolutely no reason (on the Jaguar end) that you shouldn't be able to see your directory. I have the same BT module and my Samsung Galaxy S8+ and S9+ as well as my Apple XS Max all work flawlessly.

So first things first.
Adjust the time out on your Jaguar system screen to as long as you can. This gives your phone plenty of time to find and pair (and load?).
Delete the S7 phone from Jaguar screen as well as any other phones you have on there.
Then do your discovery (you've obviously done it once so you know how)

There are several people on this very thread that have paired Galaxy 6, 7, 8, 9 and get directories as well and like I said, I'm one of them. Once you've deleted all other ones from your head unit display and re=paired, it will take some time to load the directory so be patient. Depending on how big your phonebook is, it could take 15 minutes or more. Mine was loaded in about 3 minutes. You will also see battery strength of your phone on display. If your directory doesn't load, perhaps it's just too big.

Delete phone from car and delete car from phone. Pair again.
If that doesn't work, delete phone from car and delete car from phone, then do a Hard Reset on the car. Pair again.

Safest way;
Disconnect both battery cables from the car. Touch those cables together for a few seconds making care to AVOID touching the battery at all. Reconnect cables and reset windows (and top, if convertible).

A hard reset sometimes clears all manners of electrical gremlins.
Also make certain that your battery is fully charged!

Best way to do this is to get a BoVee WM1000 adapter and connect it to an iPod adapter connected to the XK. You can listen to the phone audio output and browse the phone like it was an iPod.

I would start with a controlled experiment and see if any other phone will pair with the XK, and whether the iPhone pairs with other cars or headsets. What you are linking to is only a handsfree phone profile not an audio profile, so if you want to test that function elsewhere you need a headset that will do handsfree phone functions.

If the phone pairs with other cars and other phones don't pair with the XK then you will probably need to replace the Bluetooth unit in the car. That means disassembling the center console and replacing the little box shown in this eBay auction.

I have done this before; it is not too horrible. Also I have a spare Bluetooth unit I could ship you, but it might take a while from the States.

Hi there.

My audio guy suggested I spend $3,000 on a whole new audio set up with Bluetooth, surround sound, Dolby, and open connection with Ground Control Houston!

Solution turned out to be a $12 FM transmitter placed in the glovebox power connector. Tuned it in and Voila! - music, internet connection, etc. Who wants to take phone calls while driving your Jag anyway?

My bluetooth module doesn't work, the car will se my phone, but the phone don't see the car. have tried several phones, old and new, android and iPhone
the car is a XK 2008.
My question is: is it possible to use a module from a Land Rover or a Volvo? They seem to be identical apart from the part numbers.
Anyone tried this?

Hi, I just purchased a 2005 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. I'm having trouble getting the Phone synk and the stereo. Could you tell me more about the "Module" that you had installed.

I can confirm that I have just successfully paired two iPhone XS to my MY 2012 XKR. No problem whatsoever. Phone book download ok, all functions working.

Default iPhone 6

My iPhone 6 pairs up perfectly with my 2007 XK. Once it us paired go to options on your cars screen and upload your contacts list. The only glitch I have seen is when you receive a call it shows the number and not the callers name. You can look up contacts by name.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Robbie

I’ve tried to to pair my 07 XK with my iphone 7 several times since getting the car a couple of weeks ago, but I haven’t been successful. Disappointing.
