The 2013 maps do work in my 06/07 model. My maps are of the UK/Ireland though, so am sure they won't be of much use to you AGinPB ;-)

If we don't get someone to copy it for us, you guys wanna go in on one together? I can purchase one and make copies for you guys. I just can't wrap my head around $200 + shipping for this.
Never thought of checking Pirate Bay!! Hmmm.....

That's three of us so far. How much are you guys willing to spend? We can just hold out until we get enough people together to get the price we want. I'm willing to spend $50, but not much more than that.

I have a 2009 Jaguar XKR convert Portfolio Edition. The navigation discs are sold in geographical locations either EAST or WEST. I just bought the west version disc which is states west of the Mississippi river. My car came with the east version and was no good to me.

It is a 10 minute install and all automatic. Just remove old disc, install new, it self downloads into the system.

I bought mine on eBay for about $25.99 with free shipping. No need to buy a new OEM, as there are others out there in the secondary market.

I will sell my Jaguar OEM EAST version for $45.00 plus $5.00 to ship to anyone who can use a east edition. I believe its a 2007-2009 version.

Pretty sure my East includes two DVD's as I have to change them when I drive to Montreal.

Default Big Brother and NSA are Watching!

I'm not a copyright lawyer or a boxer, but IMHO you are leading with your chin by openly conspiring on this forum to violate U.S. and possibly Canadian copyright law. There's a reason this statement is printed on the original disk: "All Rights Reserved".

What this means is although you own the disk itself, you don't own any of the intellectual property rights digitally contained on that disk. All you have is a license to use that intellectual property, and you don't have the right to make copies and resell them unless that was granted to you, which it was not.

You can afford to lease or buy an XKR. I don't understand why anyone with the means to buy a legal Nav disk would run the risk of prosecution just to save a couple of hundred bucks. Buy the legal disk and sleep well!

Maybe it's the guys you hang with...

BTW:

The disc I bought on eBay is original Jaguar navigation and my disc for the East Coast is original Jaguar.

So if anyone out there is interested, it is original. You don't want those guys in Stuart's post above knocking on your door, do you?

Because theft is, in fact, funny. And then people complain when the maps are not updated frequently enough ... go figure. I would encourage you to look up the penalties for copyright theft. If I were the copyright holder, this is the exact thing I would monitor for and send demand letters in response to - particularly the people offering to make copies. It always astounds me that threads like this aren't immediately shut down.

I read the App permissions and decided to not install Waze because it is way too intrusive for my likes. For example, when you accept their terms in order to install Waze, you permit them to: (1) modify/delete/write to your SD card contents; (2) modify your system's settings data - this allows a malicious application to corrupt your system's configuration; (3) change your audio settings and record audio; (4) have full internet access; and, most troubling (5) to take pictures and videos with the camera at any time. You also release them from any and all liability.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather not have to be concerned about my camera taking inappropriate pictures or videos with sound of me without my knowledge and being able to post them to the internet.

So who is really behind Waze? NSA? CIA? NYPD? Eric Holder? What a great way to snoop and gather self-incriminating evidence without a search warrant, particularly since you've given them advance permission to do so! You may have just waived all of your civil liberties and 5th Amendment constitutional rights! Just to save a few minutes sitting in traffic! I know this sounds extreme, but think about it - agreeing to those permissions appears to make it possible.

The nav app included with my Droid phone has free real-time traffic that covers major city streets as well as interstates. It doesn't include permissions to take pix and videos.

My apologies for this rant. I didn't plan it this way but I just started typing and ... in the words of Carnival Cruise Lines... "ship happens".
