I used the following along with the vacuum cups. It is used by OEM's in the automotive industry for bonding panels and is really strong stuff. It requires a special gun since it is a two part glue. No sign of separation after several years now.

3M Panel Bonding Adhesive, 08115, Two-Part Epoxy, 200 ml/6.75 fl oz Cartridge, Black

 

It's now been 4 years and it is still solid.

 

This may be the stuff McLaren uses, as per Tavarish.
