If that price is out of line, what would you think of this one?

I have come to the conclusion there is a very little, almost non-existent market for the 2008-2015 Jaguar XK/XKR/XKR-s models.
The market is extremely thin, and would suggest that if looking to buy, sellers will have to make the decision to accept a lower selling price than what they are offering their cars for sale, or decide to keep the vehicle.
I have now tried 3 times selling my 2009 Jaguar XKR Convertible Portfolio Edition in mint/pristine condition with just 18,345 miles and there is no interest. The interest received is from potential buyers who offer prices well below wholesale. They are expecting me to give the car away cheap.
These vehicles are no longer a sellers market, whether the vehicles are in top shape, low mileage or limited production. As one JF member has posted and I feel he is correct, Jaguar is trying to become a traditional car company to boost the brand and production numbers.
While our XK/XKR's are beautiful and stunning to us, unless you willing to sell the vehicle at a price below wholesale, you're better off keeping the vehicle and enjoying it.

You're absolutely right. I had to give away two XKR's, a 2011 and 2013. Both in mint condition and very low mileage.

Holly crap. They'll never sell the car for that price.

I am also looking at the SL which I think is a better value than the XK. A 2005 SL55 AMG sells for $25k (equivalent 0-60 time to a 5.0 XKR) and can be tuned to 607HP for an additional $5k. And then there's that delightful hardtop convertible roof.

Current eBay active and sold, but there aren't any sold, even at 36k US. Sure the mileage is more here, but over ten grand worth? Not hardly. Drive it for two years and it'd match these anyway.

How has the search been going DGL?
I am curious if anyone has owned or even driven a Maybach 57S?
Does anyone have opinions or comments on it? (Looks, performance, maintenance, etc.)
There are a couple for sale locally, and the price used sure is a huge drop from the original $350K-$400K MSRP.

The 2007 & 2008 Maybach 57S are going for about $60-$65 for the 2007 and about $70,000 to $80,000 for a 2008.
Most have higher mileage from what I have seen in the 50,000 to 65,000 mile range.
Although production was limited in quantity, I think you can step up to a much later model in different brands in this price range.
I recently (last month Dec 15th, 2016) purchased a 2017 Genesis G80 fully loaded with all options for $46,732. After driving the G80 over the last month the car is simply fantastic. I think many potential buyers may underestimate the quality and performance of the G80 & G90 vehicles.
You could easily step up to the top-of-the-line Genesis G90 full-size super luxury brand new for $70,000-$75,000 and get a great warranty, great amenities, and superior options.
If looking for a luxury sedan I would highly recommend the G80 or G90. Do some research.

The Maybach tied to Mercedes will be very expensive for maintenance and any repairs. The 2007 & 2008 have the Mercedes front end look, and that look changed substantially in the later model years, 2012 and beyond.
