Default Wire Connector ID

I was in the process of finishing up my XK rebuild and came across this one particular harness connector that I cannot find a home for. It is on the drivers side front harness and Y's away from the front bumper interconnecting wires. Not sure if it is supposed to remain in the front area near the horns or if it is supposed to land into something in or behind the headlight area as there is enough harness to bring it back to that area. I do have an adaptive headlight trouble light on but have not had a chance to clear the codes yet since putting in the now fully functional headlights. This is the second XK that I have done and just do not remember having this connector to deal with. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi Sean,
Thanks for giving me that diagram! It is definitely not FB011 or FB 001 as they connect into the front bumper cover harness. I believe it to be either FL005 or FL031. Do you have a listing of what these particular connectors go to?

Regards,

FL005 is speed control sensor for adaptive speed control.

FB001 is behind the wheel arch and is related to fog lamps.

I see 5 pins in your pic. What are the colors in each pin number and we can isolate it.

Sean,
Looking from the front with the spades on the bottom and left to right it goes in this order
1. Yellow
2. Black
3. Blue
4. Yellow
5. Brown/White

Can you say what the FL 031 is to? Just want to confirm that it is for the horns. I am just curious what in the front end connects to something that has to do with speed control. Shouldn't that be attached to the engine or trans?

Thanks again for your efforts!

Sorry, FB001 is also tire pressure monitoring and has too many pins

It's FL005 =
Pin1 = Yellow
Pin 2 = Black
Pin 3 = Blue
Pin 4 = Yellow
Pin 5 = Brown/White

So that's the harness and if you don't have ACC (adaptive cruise control), it's a dead end plug.

FL031 is a 2 pin harness connector for the horn btw.

Thanks again for looking this up Sean! Since the front end of the car was gone when I got it I will have to look at the original build sheet to see if it had it. (Hope not!)

I will post some pictures of it once it is on the road.

Check your steering wheel On the right hand side, you will have 2 buttons if you had ACC. It's fairly rare.

Curse of curses! I guess I am one of the lucky ones to get this option. I checked what a new front sensor costs and about hit the floor.. from Jag it is $2800 and used on fleebay it is around 800. I suppose there is a good reason why I didn't recognize it since the last one I built did not have it.

I suppose now the issue becomes whether or not the regular cruise control will function properly without the front sensor being in position? Anyone have any experience with this or maybe a spare unit laying around in their toolbox! LOL.

The second button that costs thousands!

Nope, there will be no cruise at all without it.
Course, MAYBE you could get into the Car Configuration File in SDD and disable it??? Dunno, just an idea.

You might check with Pacific Motors, Jaguar Heaven or some other disassembler to see if they have a unit. Good hunting!

I think it was originally posted by U102768 but not certain. He posted another one of the backside of the center console too so it would be great to know his source because I'd like to buy the manual that has them, but I think it's Topix to which I don't have a subscription.

It was from Topix and was just what I posted. I have seen ones for the F Type, X351 XJ, XF, X150 XK and a few Range Rovers but not one for the S Type unfortunately.

The other useful resource in Topix is the Electrical Reference Library which contains photos of each connector along with wiring colours, etc. I have attached the one for FL005.

OMG thank you, I've been searching for hours to get the ERL page of the active cruise control connectors. Do you also have the page for CA085 by any chance? It should be the connector to the ACC module. Do you know how to order the correct terminals for the connectors? I think the part numbers are only the connector-shells, without terminals.
