Wrapped 07, Not French Racing Blue but close
Not for everyone to be sure....but what a great time this father/son project has turned out to be. We did all the disassembly and reassembly: lights, spoiler, antenna, door stay, plinth, door card, etc...The wrap was done by a pro. I had this in mind when I bought the car which is why I wanted black interior.
I have made a pact with my son that in exactly 4 years this goes back to "the old man" color as he calls it. I let him design a color scheme with my approval. I love the FRB and this was in the "ballpark". The color looks very different in different light as you can see.
Did the chrome trim in 'black chrome" and he had some touches of carbon fiber wrap done around the windows and on the front horizontal piece that goes left and right of the jag badge. More pics to come later this week. I like it. He's nuts about it.

2007 XK front end wrap
Here's a front end pic. If you look on a big screen you can see carbon fiber on the straight pieces left and right of the badge. Its all standard XK rake and grill aside from the colors. The black at the bottom was an afterthought to break up the front a little. Seemed like too much blue.
The headlights are screaming "Do something with me" now. The washers almost look black but they are still the standard chrome.

Is she about 5' 11" with brown hair? Mine has had a fair bit of resistance to this project but we agree there are things that are uniquely each of ours and this ultimately was one of them!

I had a place called "Mark your Space" in Bartlett do the wrap. They did the main part in 2 days and then I went back and had some trim changes done and door jambs. Will get a few more pics by tomorrow.
..and you are right...it is a little hard to miss!

I will admit, I don't know much about the wrap material. I would think you don't need to put any protective coatings on like with paint (i.e. Wax of some type)?
I say this just as a fun note. There was a guy on the BMW board, he had a 650 over in Cambodia. He took it over there from the US since he worked for the State Dept. The cost to get a car wrapped there is $300. He changed colors a couple of times just for fun. The quality was on par with any wrap he had in the states, the shop he used wrapped many high-end cars, higher than his 6...
If only we had that cost option here in the states, I would do the same, change the color every year.

Coincidentally while I was at the shop they were stripping down a 7 year old wrap on a Jeep that was clearly used off road. It was coming right off with the paint nice and shiny underneath...with a few exceptions around edges. They just used some citrus gel and those came off pretty easy. Supposedly this newer stuff comes off even better.

Cool and great look and I like the color. Looks like a great job. I do have a part that I thinks needs something different and that's with the picture in an earlier post of the front end. To me there looks like something is missing. Maybe it's to plain or there is no contrast but the nose looks naked to me. I assume it's me but that's the only part of the job that I think needs something.

I actually bought some foglight surrounds and painted them black but they looked like glasses on the car! Maybe if I blacked out the whole depth of the foglight opening WITH the surrounds... I don't know. Am chewing on that and something with the headlights...I wish I had the XKR bumper but am not going to that length right now!

Oh wow !! absolutely amazing !!
Your car has been totally transformed
The only other changes I would make would be
a) The rear chrome JAGUAR trim on the boot/trunk I would wrap that in the blue
b) Blacking out the chrome door trims either carbon / black
As for the head lights there is a whole thread on blacking out the reflectors

No wrap in the engine bay. If you open the bonnet/hood or the trunk lid you will see silver (other than the horizontal lip of the fenders and rear quarters that the trunk lid and hood sit on).
