Unhappy Wrecked 2013 XKR-S available in Oregon

I'm not sure I could feel any worse about wrecking my car, but at least nobody was injured. I got the car sideways on merge lane (empty highway), it then hooked up and went forward into the Jersey barrier off the right shoulder. The engine was still running, stopped normally, and there was a slow coolant leak (not sure if it's radiator or intercooler) so I have not attempted to drive it. I have Torque app data showing that it did not overheat. I had it pulled onto a rollback tow truck and transported to a shop, which is a few blocks from my house. It will restart.

Here's a link to photos of the car taken at the crash site and at the body shop yesterday morning. It was rained on there and now dirty, but it's all closed up. I disconnected the battery. Obviously all front bodywork is heavily damaged. Windshield is cracked. Bodywork from doors back, including all glass and paint, is perfect. Interior is perfect other than steering wheel airbag deployed. Wheels except for left front are in excellent condition, no curb rash. Left front doesn't appear to be bent, probably repairable. Car is 100% stock, except that the original large muffler box was replaced with two Borla mufflers.

Here are some photos I took last November, obviously before the crash. Car was still in same condition immediately before crashing.

I have a clean title in hand. Repair cost is likely at least replacement value. Lots of good parts on this car, but I'd prefer to sell it as it sits rather than part it myself. I'm about 1 hour east of Portland, Oregon. Send me a PM if you're interested or have any ideas for how I can sell it. Thanks.

Wow, how awful! Glad no injuries. Was it insured? Are you certain repair would exceed the ACV, damage does t appear to be too extensive and yours was a fine example? If it does end up being a write off, I may be interested.

Yikes! Would have scared the crap out of me, and so the drivers seat would need to be replaced too.
Glad you're ok, and no one else was involved.

Sorry to hear. Do you know that it can't be fixed? I'd bet it could be repaired for less than replacement cost. Need to take it to a Jaguar Certified Shop, though. They are not very common. Nearest one to me is several hundred miles away.

Oh man, this sucks. Wonders what it would take to get back road worthy?!

If it is insured, the insurance company will keep it and auction it off as salvage. The OP would have to either bid on it or pay their expected high bid to retain ownership.
If NO insurance, holy crap what a bummer.

Glad you weren't injured. That is the main thing. Presuming it is insured; I would wait to here what the insurance people say and propose before writing the whole thing off. It will be interesting to see/hear the results if you are willing to share.

Good piece of luck that no one was hurt. As for the car It would depend on the insurance carrier on the disposition of it. Some companies allow you to buy the car at the totaled value while others will give you agreed value and take the car and auction it off as salvage. So I guess the OP will find out what the insurance estimator will say.

Brutal. But if you're typing, I guess you're OK. If you decide to part it out, put me down for the wing and mid pipes, and possibly front seats, but I'd have to sit in them first (I'd come to you to pick up the other two things) to see if the difference between my them and my XKR seats are worth whatever you'd ask.

Glad you weren't hurt. The damage doesn't look bad enough for an insurance write-off but if that should happen and you decide to part it out, I would really like to have the wing.

Glad you're ok. that's the important thing.

If you decide you don't want to part it out, there are Bring a Trailer:

And there's repairable autos:

Your insurance company will decide whether or not it is "repairable." If they decide it is not repairable they will give you $$ based upon their low-ball estimate of value, which, I assure you, is not based upon "Blue Book." My own personal experience with a totaled car here in OR is worth sharing with you: I sought out an appraiser in Portland. For $500 he appraised my vehicle. It was a Hyundai Genesis sedan. Appraiser could not find local "comparables", so I supplied him with all the comparable vehicles then on Autotrader and Cars.com. The matter went to arbitration, under OR law. Insurance company had to present its own appraisal. Arbitrator awarded me the value on my appraisal plus the $500 I had spent on appraisal fees.

Oh man, that stinks. I enjoyed watching your exhaust threads.

If parting out, I would be interested in seats.

I'm not seeing anything that would total it. New nose, hood, drivers fender and supporting bits and it's back on the road. Door fit to body is important, hood whacked the wind screen, no big deal.

I am curious how you slid sideways scuffing the nose and buggered up the left front wheel

How about the Air Bags? Deployment of the bags brings up some additional concerns/problems.

Sorry to see this but good there were no injuries.

Please PM me when the vehicle goes so I can change the thread title or you'll be getting enquiries forever.

Pic number 10 shows only the driver’s deployed.
