Default X150 dull headlights??

Hey folks just purchased an x150 xkr and the xenon lights seem dull? Any ideas? All the bulbs are on just the dipped and high beam don't seem very effective.

Do you mean dull when you look at them or do you mean that they don't project to far when you are driving at night. The perception being they are not bright. Welcome to the form

Most likely they need to be adjusted up a bit . There are adjustment screws under the bonnet near the head light assembly Need an allen wrench to adjust them. Look at the screws and adjust to "R" direction Try a 1/4 turn at a time.

I see a LOT of yellowed headlight lenses out there, but I've never actually seen one yellowed on an XK. Course, I've only seen one other than mine, so mostly just from you's guys's pictures. I liked the actual glass lenses on my old XK8.
Old Dodges seem to be the biggest Yellow Culprit.

My BMW yellowed up pretty bad, and pretty fast. I finally changed them out for glass. Best thing ever.

My XKR's headlights did start to yellow slightly. Not enough to affect performance but the exterior appearance was starting to get ugly. I used one of those 3M kits and combined with my Flex random orbital polisher and it looks pretty good again. I also applied 3M 303 aerospace protectant to prevent it from happening again.

If your headlights bulbs are original, they're probably nearing the end of their life. $160 or so gets you some replacements and will make a big difference if the housing isn't dull as well. Post a picture of your lights so we know what you're working with.

Ditto. On mine the fog lights lit up the road better than the original bulbs which had a dim bluish tint. Shop around, a lot, for original D1S's. I got mine from Newegg last year for a fraction of other's cost.

These are the bulbs I used; there was a massive difference between them and the oem bulbs. The Retrofit Source has some awesome customer service if there is a problem and ship stuff out really quickly.
