X150 Headroom Coupe vs. Convertible
Hi there,
I’m going to be in the market for an x150 XK or XKR, but have only had the time to sit in a 2014 coupe.
My wife was pleased with the ample headroom, but is concerned that a convertible will have less headroom than the coupe.
My search on this forum has lead me to believe that x150 convertibles actually have more headroom than coupes.
Can anyone confirm that this is true?
Also, do earlier 4.2 xks have different interior dimensions than their later 5.0 counterparts?
Thanks for the info!

The 'verts have at least the head room of the coupe, if not more, and that's only when the top is up. WHY have the top up? The sky can be your ceiling! There is less boot space in the convertible, but then again you won't have the greenhouse effect either. Some say they much prefer the looks of the coupe over the 'vert, but I think the vert looks better both top UP and top down. But then again, my top is RARELY up.
The body for the 4.2s and the 5.0s are the same sans a few updated parts, such as front bumper. Well, probably ONLY the bumper. The interior on the 5.0s are a tad fancier, and the rotary shifter which I actually prefer to a faux stick. The 2012s and later have another fascia update and look a tiny bit newer, but the rest of everything remains, oh again except for Gooey Touch Buttons on the newer models. Those are easily rectified with an hour and some goo-gone and some Q-tips.

Oregon gets nearly as much annual rain as we do in Washington. The vert is a great option, but your chances to drive top-down is severely hampered.
I truth, I've only owned one vert here in the pacific northwest, and decided the lack of use and the lack of cabin security was just not for me.
I've run to Eugene many time as I have family there! Hwy 242 over to Sisters is one of my favorite roads!
