I've just bought a lovely X150 XK from 2006...slightly higher mileage than I initially had in mind, but a good deal all in all...too good to pass!
About me: I'm a 40 yo, French guy but have been living in Luxembourg for a bit more than 8 years now. My Jag is from Germany and MY 2006. It's a "standard" 4.2, grey with caramel interior (see pics below), which I find to be a very classy combo. It replaces the 2009 2.0 MX-5 I've had for more than 10 years (incidentally, in a similar colour combo), which has a retractable hard top...maybe the feature I'm going to miss the most...
The Jag is currently fitted with 19in Tamana rims, on which I've had winter tyres mounted (yep, it's going to be my daily driver!) this very day. I don't know why the CoC only mentions 18 inchers for winter tyres, but whatever... I'm going to get Senta rims for its summer wheels when spring comes back cuz they're sooooo beautiful!!
And for your viewing pleasure, the said pix:
And given I'm a n00b with the XK, you can be sure I'll be back to pester you with a gazillion questions...so thanks for putting up with me!
Congratulations on the new to you car! Great choice, I have that same color interior and love it. Quite a step up in engine displacement, car size, and all around luxury.
I have pearl grey, it has more of a purplish tint to it.
The 3 letter color code is on that sticker you see when you open the driver's door. There is a thread on the forums (or google) where you can look up your color code and get the name of it.

You have a beautiful car, and you will find that the 4.2 is very reliable (and fast, despite the fact that the supercharged version is fastER).
You will love this gorgeous machine. One caveat: if it has not already been done, the thermostat and its plastic housing (they form a single unit) should be on your list for replacement, and a change of all fluids might also be advisable. That said, these cars are a joy to own and especially to drive. You have probably already found that it is impossible to park it without looking back at it in admiration. That is a constant of Jaguar ownership - any Jaguar.
Congratulations!
Great ride, congratulations. It is amazing that a design now approaching 16-18 years of age is still amongst the best on the road. These vehicles are timeless.

Thx! Pure grace doesn't age...
BTW hey it's funny you replied to my thread: I've just replied to a post of yours (about your footrest)...

Definitely agreed for the looking back part...it's so impossibly beautiful!
Regarding the fluids, it's been serviced earlier this year, so that shouldn't be an emergency I guess.
Also agreed for the fast bit...I'm still to fully get a hand on how to properly use the power, as I've noticed on motorways I'm quickly above speed limit! In my buying process, I have test driven some R models, and indeed...faster! While entering a motorway, you don't even push the 3rd gear all the way to the top and bam, you're doing 180 km/h before you even realize!

I've got to give credit where it's due: these pics are from the posting used to sell it. They're by the previous owner.
Dude was a real douche, but he sure could take good pics...

Does it come with the velcro or was it something that you added to it? Those I have seen seem to use adhesive tape.
Could you please share the link to it, if possible? Thanks in advance!!
The foot rest itself came from a Spanish supplier. There are other suppliers such as Adamesh in the UK or Mina Galleries in the LA area. As I have the Jaguar metal accelerator and brake pedals I decided the Spanish supplier's was most to my liking. Google Jaguar XK foot rest and you will find a number potential suppliers. Regarding the Velcro, I bought the heavy duty from a local Home Depot. I think you can find what you want in a local hardware store.

Thanks for this info!
Do you know what are your foot rest's dimensions, by the way?
