I'm in the Los Angeles area. I haven't found too many areas around here to be able to open my cat up very often. Just very short bursts here and there.

Any ideas?

ANGELES CREST HIGHWAY. Early evening. Nine miles up, all curves. You'll never hit speed- and on the weekends it's crowded - but if you're lucky mid-week, you'll have a good long stretch behind some kid with a tweaked M4 who knows the road and knows how to drift. You'll really learn what you can cannot do in a corner. I still go up now and then, mid-week, 6, 7PM. Try do do it in the next few days before it starts getting dark early. It's less fun at night. And some of the turnouts are jammed with car-club kids. I get nostalgic.

Thanks PK. I went up there a couple of years ago with my F-Type. It is a great road. I was there on an early weekend morning and you are right. McLaran car club, Porsche car club, Really fast bikes etc. It was a great ride. It is possible I had a short sprint on the way there at 128MPH. I'm not sure how solid this car would feel at that speed if I ever took it there.

No drifting for me. At least not yet. I need to take another ride out there.

Quick update, got a tip from an XKR FB site to do a "reset" on my windows, also saw a clip of the same on youtube. It was simple to do but more importantly it actually worked! I guess my windows weren't seating all the way up and the reset fixed it. Wow, what a pleasant difference with the top up now, loving the XKR more every day. Thanks all for input and discussion. Nah. I prefer the winding 2 lane roads with the occasional passing lane, blind corners and changes in elevation.
Windows down. (Mine is a a coupe)
