Wait, they make a convertible?

j/k. Coupe and vert (top down) are great looking cars. The vert top up isn't as attractive but who buys one for that? Do what YOU like.

Just the other day I saw the essence of the etype while fueling up. The neon light from the canopy did the job for me highlighting.
Those lines, that hatch window, and that elegance.

Yes those with a convertible see the convertible Etype. Makes sense.
Those with down syndrome see a 65 Barracuda.

How does one see a similarity to a 65 barracuda which famously had no buttresses.

Topless it's gorgeous AND a much more immersive drive.
I agree, Cee Jay. The convertible looks great when the top is up. The X150 is one of those rare convertibles that look so good with the top raised. But when it’s down, OMG! Perfection.

always remember Ian Callum designed the X150 as a convertible first, with those wonderful XKE haunches visible in the side mirrors.

The coupe came second even though it went to market first.

both versions are sweet.

I wrote exactly that in a post about a week ago. Can't remember which one though.

Lord Callum also designed the Etype and made the convertible first.
He said 'here is half a car, considered it a down payment'

Really? Malcolm Sayers may dispute that. I didn't think Ian Callum joined Jaguar until 1991, having previously worked at Ford, TWR and Aston Martin.

Mate, you have just ruined it for a lot of lovely, deluded, convertible owners who believed the shape of the XK was first designed by Callum, as a convertible.
Glad it was not me, I could not live with myself for destroying fantasies.

I loved your former car, wish it was available in USA where I now am. My absolute favourite bar none. Here is Callum with an etype in that colour I believe.
