who has some information about the E50 anniversary edition of the XK that was sold in 2011 and maybe as well in 2012? I am told this edition was to celebrate the E Type’s 50y anniversary.

Note the “XK E 50” badge on the car depicted below:
I obviously did a number of google searches on the topic, but the information available is not very abundant. No information on produced numbers or exact years of sale, etc.
Also no thread here in the forum about the E 50 as it seems.
If you find a good resource, please link here. Thanks!
From the article your suppose to have a painted body color boot/trunk finisher which you do not.. Also, you would have some other cosmetic things that were done to these special editions. Can't confirm from your pic... So, not really sure if your XK is one of these special edition cars or not... Is the XK & E50 badges one piece or two separate pieces?
Ter11 - You can pull a build sheet off of Topix. You may be able to find Topix under tools or type it in the search box at the upper right had corner of this page. I'm not sure, but I think Topix will identify whether or not your XK is 50th anniversary edition.
...... No information on produced numbers or exact years of sale, etc. .....
The start year is not in doubt as 2011 was the fiftieth anniversary of the launch on the E-Type on March 15th 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show. Jaguar chose the same venue in 2011 to premier the XK E50. Although dealers may have had stock for longer, it is unlikely that production continued into 2012.
The lack of information on production numbers is not surprising for two reasons.
1. Jaguar have been reluctant to publish production numbers on the XK. This can only be to conceal falling sales or to prevent informed debate on the decision to cease production of this model and concentrate two door efforts on the F-Type.
2. the E50 is one of several 'special editions' which had unique trim but no performance differences. Jaguar had already successfully produced 'special editions' for the previous XK8. These were particularly aimed at the North American market.
Some performance 'special editions' were produced (e.g. XKR-S) where performance and exclusivity were a fundamental part of the marketing strategy. Numbers produced of these variants were therefore publicised.
With the earler 'special editions', numbers were usually around 1000 units for Worldwide sale. The actual E50 total is likely to have been as many as they could sell but is probably a similar number.
You have a fine car with the addition of it being a 'special edition'. Nice to have but don't expect the value to increase as a result. Previous 'special editons of XK8 and XK have not done so and there is no reason for the E50 to be any different.
many thanks for the valueable information on the E50. I will probably eventually write to Jaguar to provide some details about this edition in my country.
Should there be any mention of it being a 50th anniversary edition on the log book, or in Topix? I recently bought an XK 2011 sold as a portfolio, but with the exception of the e50 extra badge it has all the other features of the e50 version, heritage plates on doors, ali trim, two tone ivory/charcoal seats, black chrome, colour matched boot finisher etc.
