I just completed a day trip of 200 miles. The majority of it was taken between 70~90 mph with an occasional sprint to @ 105. The jag averaged 20mpg (us). Is that normal, high or low?

I have an 2010 XL Convert. 5L,w/ 51K, 200 mile trip top down holding the speed limit of 75, and passing a truck convoy at 115 gave me a 24mpg average. Around town 18 mpg.
24-26 on the highway, but only 10-12 in the city. Bit of a leadfoot, but I'd still think I could get 17-18.
MAF cleaned, O2 sensors read alright (but are original), Lambda at stoichiometry, LTFT at 0%, 2 yr old gas filter and fuel pump (fuel pressure on spec in mid-50's psi). No cat codes, etc. 0-20 oil; tire pressure to spec, Chevron 91 with Techron, plus additional bottle of techron every 6 months. All seems well, but the mpg seems lower than it should at lower speeds.
Considering a SDD reset-relearn of the ZF to see if that helps. Other Ideas?
Thanks

I feel pretty confident that had I set cruise to 75 I would have achieved at least 23mpg but that isn’t in my dna. I’ll watch this for a while as I’m curious as to how much affect and occasional jaunt into S mode has on the miles per gallon. When I get a chance I’ll probably replace fuel filter and air filters but I’m not concerned at this point in time.
wymjym, 2009 XKR, 42K, new air filters, repaired vacuum lines ( long story), oil & filter, fresh tank high octane, 80 mile trip home from shop at speeds averaging 70 or so. Jim, my trip gauge showed 15 mpg, but I'm in denial. Like CeeJay, I don't really care too much about fuel economy. I genuinely enjoy, however, just sitting in my garage admiring the lines of the XKR. Hey, beats watching CNN! Also Jim, today I decided to remove all of the wheels and clean/polish the inside of the wheels. Those have got to be the absolute heaviest wheels I've ever handled!! I guess I need to double up on my vitamin supplements?!

OEM Toyota 80 series 16x8 wheels are around 25 pounds + 4 lbs. of dynabeads + 70ish pounds of rubber = makes the 19" XKR rear wheel/tire feel like it's made out of carbon fiber and unicorn farts.

I have the 20" Sentra wheels and this is the first vehicle that I actually use a short piece of lumber to leverage the wheel into position...of course I'm getting old and frail.

As a septuagenarian I would strongly agree with the "state of mind" portion of the equation, however, where the mind is akin to Hercules the body slowly digresses into Achilles with an arrow in his heel! The thought is appreciated however.
My work out is to ride my ebike and grab my chainsaw every week or so...life is 'still good'.
When younger I did 2x my age in situps every day, at 50 I went to 1x, at 65 I went to 1/2 x I'm still at 1/2 but it keeps getting harder.
Comprende amigo! During my state patrol days I weighed 215 and pressed a lot more than that. Today at 210 I ached for two days after removing and installing only 4 wheels....go figure!
