Default XK transmission cooling pipes

Hi to all, I am in London, UK and have had a problem with the transmission cooling pipes on my 2006 4.2 XK. They leaked and Jaguar has said that they are currently not available 'worldwide' and that they are tendering for a new supplier for their stocks.
These are the aluminium pipes with flexible connectors that run from the transmission to the oil cooler located in the main radiator. Twisty little things and difficult to get at.

After 2 months off-road and searching everywhere, my local jag specialist managed to find a careful dismantler who had a set. My garage suspects that Jaguar may never find a company willing to make small batches of these pipes and that the only sources in the future might be from dismantlers. Obviously making them increasingly scarce in the UK

I was wondering if you guys have had the same problem and if you already have found local shops who will make them up. Happy to pass their name on this side of the pond so we can keep our XKs rolling in the future.

I'd reach out to Tom Lenthall https://www.tomlenthall.co.uk/ as well who is a JLR specialist, especially for non-current models he may have either an interest or a solution. Also this is being becoming increasingly common for the X150 parts as I have run into this with some other bits.

Pretty easy to replace flex section (use 1/2' ID trans cooler hose.
Carefully cut off crimps and double clamp new hose. Search this forum for threads with details.
(I would do this repair with a used set as well; good chance an older used set will weep at flex sections when installed. Probably easiest to repair lines you have in situ, unless they're damaged in some way)

I had a non-Jag with leaking trans oil cooler pipes a month ago, and expected my local parts pusher to have them. No, had to buy fittings and copper pipe and create myself. I don't know if this is the industry standard...

If you end up creating them yourself, buy good double collar tool, the cheap ones are a waste of time

Welcome to the forums Prias,

I would have preferred to see an Intro as your first post rather than starting a Poll.

Thanks to all for your helpful comments. Fortunately I am back on the road, but with the used parts. So, continue on my way with daily nervous looks for fresh oil stains on the driveway. It turned out that the originals had failed through a pinhole in the aluminium pipe, so when my garage sent them to a pipe shop and they could not repair the old and fragile bent aluminium, they fitted new flexible hoses (as hisport suggested). The end result was a pantomime horse of smart new hoses and old, leaking pipe.
I will drop a line to Tom Lenthall as Jahummer suggests and see if he is aware of the problem. My independent garage is Les Pauls (lespaulsmotors.co.uk) and perhaps they can come up with something.

Finally , Apologies to Graham and all for going straight into a Thread. Put it down to a newbie mistake and I will do an Intro soon.

Les Paul Motors Ltd always had a good reputation although mention of them has decreased in recent years. If they don't have a solution, you could try David Marks Garages in Nottingham. He has done a lot of work for Jaguar Heritage and is very inventive as his X300 Daimler Corsica Coupe clearly demonstrated.
