XK/XKR Production # response from Jaguar USA

Being a Coupe Guy (starting with an XK140 MC in the sixties) I am surprised & pleased) how many Al. Coupes have sold. For every 3 conv's, 2 Coupes; that's a big change from the past, Coupes used to be much rarer ....................
I wonder if the used price differential between conv and coupes will be closer or wider than for XKE's? Or will it just widen because there are more XK Coupes available!
Interesting topic...............The XK Coupe (Radiance) is a marvelous looking and preforming vehicle!
Pity it only had 1 BU light! now 2..........

So how many XKR Victory Vert units produced in 2006?
Sounds like I might be in the right thread. I am considering puchasing 06 2006 XKR Victory convertible. Does anyone have a link to Jag production numbers by model and trim? I know there were about 1050 Victory XKs produced for 2006 model year, just not sure out of those how many were XKR verts.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks!
Ball park figure about 55% converts to coupes.
Hope this helps.

I tried to get some specific info from Jaguar as well, and while they were kind enough to call me (several times), their data was not really informative. And that's gotta be on purpose, honestly, because how hard is it to query a spreadsheet?
Rarely will I laud Chrysler for their overall customer service, but I'll give them big props for supplying VERY detailed build numbers to Viper owners... pretty cool. Gen IV numbers, for example:

OK, my guess then for Victory editions -- XKR Verts -- is about 240 or so. So 4007 XKs total for 2005 prod run, 1050 Victory editions max (25%), 985 XKR verts @25% or about 240. I'll go with that -- that is rare enough!

How Rare is my 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible?
I asked this question on November 6, 2010 and, to my surprise, got ZERO replies! So, since rarity is being discussed in this thread, I decided to copy my old thread below and see if there are any math experts out there who can either validate or disprove my WAG. Here's the link to my old thread in case you're interested: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-33/how-rare-my-2009-xkr-portfolio-convertible-45154/ I look forward to your thoughts!

Is there a math expert out there who can accurately estimate how many cars were manufactured exactly like mine? Thanks for your help, and please include your rationale with your reply. Here are the facts:
I recently purchased a gorgeous 2009 XKR Portfolio convertible with a black soft top, oak veneer dash, adaptive cruise control, 2-tone Ivory with Slate Interior, and Alcon brakes. I knew it was a limited production vehicle, and wanted to know just how rare it actually is. So I wrote to Jaguar, and was told that for the 2009 model year, Jaguar produced 180 XKR Portfolio coupes and 200 convertibles. Although I asked, they didn't tell me how many were exactly like mine!
Attached is the email I received from Jaguar in response to my inquiry.
I realize that the answer to my question depends on the model (coupe or convertible) and the selections and options on that particular vehicle.
All 2009 XKR Portfolios were painted Shadow Gray, a color exclusive to that model. Options available for 2009 XKR Portfolio models included the following:
1. Dash trim: either Rich Oak veneer or Engine Spun Aluminum dash finish, the latter with Piano Black instrument panel
2. Upholstery: either Charcoal with Cranberry twin needle stitching or Ivory with Slate twin needle stitching
3. Convertible top: either dark gray or black
4. Adaptive Cruise Control (add $2,300)
I'm not sure, but I think the Alcon brakes were standard on all Portfolios. (Note: correction - Alcon brakes were a $5,000 option)
So, out of 200 convertibles,
1. How many soft tops were gray and how many were black? Assuming 80% black, that narrow the result to 160 (200 x 80%). (All my assumptions are my WAGs, with no statistical basis.)
2. How many dash trims were oak or aluminum? Most of the cars I've seen on line had the aluminum dash, so my WAG is 40% oak; that narrows the result to 64 (160 x 40%).
3. How many interiors were upholstered in charcoal or ivory/slate? Most of the cars I've seen on line were charcoal, so my WAG is 40% ivory/slate; that narrows the result to 26 (64 x 40%).
4. How many had adaptive cruise? I saw only one other car on line with ACC, so my WAG is 20% with ACC; that narrows the result to 5 (26 x 20%).
Am I realistic in assuming that there are only around 5 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertibles out there that are exactly like mine?

Thanks again for your analysis!

Here is another source for Jaguar/Land Rover Sales from Tata Motors:
Sales by Car Line and Region
Lacks breakdown by vehicle type but does provide some interesting model sales patterns.

Nigel Thorley's book (You & Your Jaguar XK8) gives production figures for 2005 (the last year of production, last model rolled off the line May 27, 2005) of 835 XKR verts, 584 coupes, 1,434 XK8 verts, 602 coupes. As you say, 1050 Victories were produced in total, in both 8 and R, coupe and vert forms.

What I love with my 2005 XKR is pulling up to an outdoor (Alfresco) eating area and watching all the heads turn and often several get up from their tables and go over and gawk. I've had many, many requests from females mostly wanting a ride or a chance to drive it, and even a few offers of sexual favors at no charge for the privilege. This infuriates my Euroslut BMW fan son, which makes the experience even better.

I guess those of us with the 'numbered' limited editions (75 & 175) at least know how many of our cars exist. I've been fortunate in getting the info from Jaguar that only 20 RHD XKR 75s were built, which means there are only 20 cars like mine.
What I've not yet been able to determine is whether all of the 75s have the speed limiter set to 186 MPH like mine does, or whether some/most/all were set to 174 as was quoted. There is a chance that mine is unique, but I have not had any contact with another 75 owner to find out.

Well I still do not know exactly how many 06 XKR Victory Edition convertibles there are, or whether they will be collectible or not; but I know I have one of them finally! It took 7 or 8 months. I am still guessing that there were about 240 in total. I've got a silver one with black interior - and oddly enough it has the wind screen. If anyone else has any better number than that please post.

Hahaha! When I contacted them, they replied promptly by email with the 2009 XKR Portfolio production numbers. But they couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me how many were made exactly like mine.
See: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ertible-45154/
I'm pretty sure those numbers are for the North American market. How many are left?
