Xk XKR Wind Deflector
So, After the operator error trip to the dealer today, I do learn that there actually is a wind deflector, at least the catalog says so, Product # 02C2P17566 Brushed Aluminum, or P2440 in black.
1 - I have Silver 2011 with Black interior...I guess black eh?
2 - Does the damn thing work? For a 2011?
Searching the forums, I see issues with the install, and of course, if it's just a useless appendage, I don't want it. There is a good amount of cockpit wind without it.
Thanks in advance.

When you searched through the forums you probably read that most folks have chosen a wind deflector other than the OEM due to cost for part and installation. Adamesh seems to be the most popular, and I just bit the bullet and ordered one myself.
I am being realistic in my expectations -- that the wind will be reduced some but reduced more if coupled with windows up. The wind deflector in my Honda S2000 was a joke, and the wind deflector in my Porsche Boxster S rattled loudly; if the Adamesh is quiet and at least a 50% improvement over my past deflectors, I will be satisfied!
Update: Got the deflector just a few days after ordering from the U.K. Installation took all of 30 seconds, and some of that time was spent just walking around the back of the car to get to the other side to snap in the side post. Looks great, now I just need to take it out for a drive!

I bought the Adamesh wind deflector for my 2009 XKR Portfolio and it is a high quality accessory. It is designed, engineered and manufactured to high standards. I ordered it in black with beige stitching in the hope it would match my ivory/slate interior, which it did. The beige stitching is close enough to my ivory seats and the black is close to the slate stitching on the seats and on my dashboard, as well as the black cover for the convertible top. If I didn't know better, I would have thought it was a factory accessory. It works best with the windows up, but is OK with the windows down up to about 40 mph. It attaches easily, but I modified the rear pins by slipping about 2 inches of 1/4" clear plastic tubing over them so they would fit deeper into the slots in between the rear seats and be more secure. Also, you don't have to fold it down when you put the top up or down. I haven't had any problems with it loosening up or flopping around after 7 months of use and folding it up and down. Hope this helps!

I have an Adamesh deflector which I bought because of cost and the fact that it would match my interior (caramel) I love it , the only problem is that it can become loose if you move it up & down but that is minor.
My understanding also is the OEM model needs 1 hour of installation labor
It really does reduce dramatically the air hitting you from the back. I live in Florida and it allows me to keep the top down all year long , granted its only a month or so where it is anywhere near 40 degrees or less here

I bought the Ebay one when I bought my 2010 XKR. It does help reduce the backlash, but compared to the wind deflector on my 2002 BMW M3, it doesn't do a lot. The M3's deflector reduced in cabin wind by about 90%, the XKR one maybe 40-50%. This isn't necessarily a bad reflection on the XKR's wind deflector, since in order for it to be top-up compatible, the vertical distance it covers is not very large. The other fault lies with Jaguar - if the rear windows went up when the top was down, it would do a lot to make the wind deflector more efficient.

Buy WhiteXKR's remote unit for the top and the rear windows ad on. It works perfectly and with the rear windows up considerable reduction of wind swirls.

I have the Adamesh Ltd wind deflector. Whether the wind deflector is Mina, Adamesh, or others, they work great.
The Adamesh LTD deflector will move forward and backward on the vertical screen. While I don't have the remote convertible switching unit, even with the driver and passenger side windows up, there is little to no bufferring of wind into the cockpit especially when the vertical screen is broughty forward just a little.
These deflectors do exactly what they were designed for, under the pretense the XK/XKR owner would only have the drivers/passenger side windows up.
If you own a XK/XKR/XKR-S Convertible, I highly recommend that you consider purchasing one.
They are easy to install and look very nice.
