XKR 2007
I bought recently XKR of 2007 . some days later started my problem . Could not start the engine and the alarm lights started . They advised me to get the battery out for 3 min , I did it , and started . someone told me that this happened maybe because of the key was not charged and I had to place it in the car pocket. I did it but this continued for more than 5 months now . Funny is that also Jaguar cant understand why this happens . Does anybody have similar problem ?

Hi Dimitris. You appear to be talking about the battery in your Key FOB.
1st,
If the keyless vehicle module is unable to identify the Smart Key for any reason, for example if the Smart Key battery voltage is low or there is local RF interference, the transponder within the Smart Key can be read in the conventional manner. The driver will be alerted to this by a chime and a message in the instrument cluster message center 'SMART KEY NOT FOUND, PLEASE INSERT IN SLOT'. The Smart Key can be inserted into the start control module.
If you key FOB battery is low, you should be receiving a low battery message n the instrument panel.
2nd
Placing your FOB in the start control module doesn't charge it.
You need to replace the battery #2032.
There are some solutions to FOB's that drain batteries too quickly, if that's your issue.

"Most" electrical gremlins are caused by Low Battery Voltage (not Smart key battery, the car's battery).
Try charging the car battery for 24 hours with a battery charger, not a trickle charger or maintainer.
Very many threads in here about low battery voltage and all the havoc they wreak.

Welcome to the Forum! Hopefully, you'll get your new 2007 XKR sorted soon. The road of life is short, so enjoy the ride!
You got bad advice, since the fob does not use a rechargeable battery. It uses a CR2032, and needs no reprogramming after you install a new one. If it doesn't work after you install a new battery, that battery may be defective, installed upside down, or is not making good contact with the prongs.
Many Forum members have similar problems with incompetent dealers. Try another dealer, if possible, or a competent independent shop.
Another possibility is a weak main battery, as this will cause a variety of electrical gremlins. There are many threads about this, and using a CTEK or other quality battery maintainer on a regular basis is highly recommended. P.S. Hey, Cee Jay - I was writing my reply when you posted yours. Great minds think alike!
